MEDIAPAD X2: Unlock Bootloader & Root Guide

For an easy way to unlock & root your X2 here are the steps you need to take.

1)Unlock your bootloader. Send an email to mobile@huawei.com Email them the following:

Hello. I keep getting an error when trying to unlock my phone on the unlock page.

Model: GEM-703L (Or whatever model you have)
Serial: Put in your phones serial number here. (You get this in About phone, Status)
IMEI: Put in your phones IMEI number here. (You get this in About phone, Status)
Product ID: (Go into your phone dialer and dial *#*#1357946#*#* and it will give you your Product ID)

After you get the unlock code emailed back to you, download this:

Then connect phone to your computer and shut down the phone. Press and hold the volume down button and the power button. Keep holding down the volume down button, until the phone enters into bootloader mode.
Then open the double-click unlock.bat and select option 3.
Then disconnect phone from your computer then type in the unlock code on phone. If the unlock is successful, you will see an android guy and it will say Phone Unlocked underneath it.

2) Download TWRP recovery from here:

Then put your phone into Bootloader Mode and fastboot flash the TWRP recovery file you downloaded. (extract the img file from the rar file first) I'm not gonna go over how to use Fastboot here as there are many guides on many different websites on how to use it. Then do a fastboot reboot. When your phone reboots shut it back down and then hold in volume up and power and keep holding them in until the phone boots into TWRP recovery. If you want TWRP in English download one of the English themes (the 287x files from the last link) Make a folder on your Internal Storage called TWRP, then make a theme folder inside the TWRP folder and rename the theme you downloaded to ui.zip and put the zip file in the theme folder you made.

3) Root your phone.

In TWRP flash this:

After flashing, reboot your phone and you will be rooted.
