Hello everyone,
I am completely new to modding the phone. I usually would not have done it, but the "MonkeyTest" / "TimeService" worm made me do it, because it was completely destroying the phone of my friend. As a quick summary this malicious software downloads apps & malware in the background, slows down the phone, flashes in ads frequently and so on. It is really hard to remove - even a complete factory reset did not do it for me so I went to flash the ROM with CyanogenMod. So far it's great [and I will not go back to the Samsung ROM anymore], but there is one lone survivor: TimeService.
Issue:
After every boot the "downloaded apps" / "installed apps" section lists this TimeService app. Although it does not seem to do malicious stuff to the phone (yet(!), or at least I am not aware of it), I want to get rid of it already before it starts taking over the phone again. I spent several hours to fight myself through lags and forced phone restarts to get here.
Because a factory reset _and_ ROM flash did not help to completely get rid of it and because of the fact it is there after every phone restart, I blindly assume the app has injected itself into the bootloader or something like that to install itself over and over again. I don't know anything about the tech stuff here, I am sure you guys are much better at this and I hope you can help me.
Phone:
Samsung Note II N7100 (International / GSM): GT-N7100
Android Version as of now: 4.4.4
Basebrand Version: N7100XXDLK7
CM: 3.0.64-CM-ge2f984e
