SnapChat face filters for android? [Q]

I recognize that the description of the app states that it only works with "Newer" android devices, but I have an S4 and it has the feature to recognize faces on the phone but for some reason I do not get the ability to have these new face filters. Is there a way I can make it work? Maybe an apk?
