Bricked Samsung Galaxy note 8 i467

hello All, would appreciate any help you could provide. I rooted this tablet, the samsung galaxy note 8 i467 att, using the chinese app 360 super root. the only problem: it installs a chinese super user. it also required all permissions; these two facts made me nervous about leaving the app installed. unfortunately, removing the app also removed root. I could not figure out how to uninstall the app, and leave root, so I could install chainfires supersu; all attempts failed. Chainfire's supersu would not install the initially required updates.

I tried freezing the chinese super user app hoping that I cound install the english supersu after the chinese one was frozen. This did not work; all super user required functions froze, so chainfire's would not install. Then I tried to unfreeze it, but due to a glitch in the app I was using to freeze programs, I was unable to. Now I was stuck with a tablet with a frozen superuser. No root access.

At this point, I decided to go back to the initial plan. Downgrade using Odin (go from firmware 4.4.2 down to 4.1.2 from sammobile) and use a root method available for that firmware, in english. This process failed in odin, leaving me with a brick. Currently, the tablet powers on, and it says something like " a firmware not authorized by at&t has been detected". nothing else. Stock recovery/Odin mode is available via hardware keys, but all attempts to flash (4.1.2) from this screen via odin have failed for me. I have also tried kies emergency flash mode. The tablet is not recognized in kies. it hangs at the intial connection phase, and connection time out.

Please advise if there is any way I can bring this tablet back to life, and achieve root. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
