Hi guys. While I am grateful with you just to be interested in helping, please try to read my whole post before trying to offer a solution, because it is kind of a long trip until now.
I am having a bad experience here trying to root a Moto E XT1021 (single SIM). As warranty is now expired and after watching all development going to this little amazing device we decided to root this phone which is not mine. I followed instructions and unlock the bootloader, fastboot displays a "Device is UNLOCKED. Status Code: 3" line, so I am pretty sure it is.
Now, I get into fastboot mode with hard keys and thru "adb reboot bootloader", I put the SuperSU.zip to flash thru custom recovery inside my sdcard but when I try to flash the custom recovery with a "fastboot flash recovery recovery_whatever.img" I get:
In cellphone display I get:
So I don't guess nor assume the recovery was flashed, fastboot is informing it writed the IMG file to the correct partition. So I reboot and try an "adb reboot recovery" which fails miserably and reboots to system. Well, I read and read and find that I have to go directly from fastboot to recovery, but when I do this, the same thing happens. So, I read in another similar problem and the guys say I have to stay in fastboot display, disconnect my phone, and AFTER this I have to go to recovery directly from fastboot, but when I do this, display goes blank (does not seem to have backlight on).
I have tried with, literally, every custom recovery IMG I have found here and from scripts like Moto Tool and Super Tool. The most I can get is this. Or a pixelated-static display trying to get into recovery but finally failing. Help me, please, I just wiped the whole thing to unlock bootloader and if I can't root it my wife is gonna kill me.
