[Q] Found a note 3 with 4.3 installed, going to buy it (questions)

I will be selling my note 3 that is on 4.4.4 since I can't root it.
Will the Verizon variant on 4.3 have a locked bootloader? I want to preserve root and upgrade to 4.4.2.
I downloaded the firmware in preperation. My current phone is black and this one is white.
I can swap motherboards from chassis to chassis to keep my current black color and glass screen protector I just installed 2 days ago?
