TWRP - No OS Installed After Installing ROM

Hi,

I'm currently trying to install CyanogenMod onto my HTC One X+, but keep running into problems.

I unlocked the bootloader, and installed TWRP v2.8.7.0.
I went into recovery fine, and used "adb push" to push cm-11-20150906-NIGHTLY-enrc2b.zip onto the device and install it through TWRP.
I then tap "reboot" but it always tells me that "No OS Installed", and rebooting into the bootloader to flash the boot.img and erase the cache doesn't seem to fix this issue.

I've tried a few different versions of recoveries, like CyanogenMod's recovery, but still can't seem to get it to install any OS. Always just get stuck on the HTC logo.

Am I missing an important step, or something? Thanks for your time.

"App not installed"

Hi guys, I'm desperatly seeking help here.
I just rooted my n5 and I decided to install a custom rom (Resurrection Remix). I managed to have it run perfectly on the device but here's the problem, when I tried to restore apps and data from titanium some applications didn't install showing "App not installed" (the actual message is in italian but I think you get what I mean). I have unknown sources active so I thought it must be a kind of bug of the rom and I tried installing CM12.1. Obviously I'm not that lucky and I got the exact same issue with the exact same apps (eg Monument Valley PAYED from the Amazon App Shop and another couple of apps that worked fine before).
I tried wiping cache and dalvik via twrp but nothing. Even if I try to restore the app from the amazon shop (or reinstalling the apk of the other ones) it still won't work.
Flashing factory image of course fixes it but I want a custom rom and I don't think I can have it at this point.

HELP

XT1039 No SIM Error after flashing any ROM with installed LolliPop OTA Update

Hi,

i want try some newer ROMs but after flashing any rom with or without a full wipe i got the no sim error. At the moment I have Beetos ROM from the 07.07 installed, which works without any errors.
I've made the OTA LolliPop Update several month ago, so flashing the radio file shouldn't be necessary.

Do I have to do anything else?

with best regards,

ACorrente

Installed new LCD - Calibration?

I've installed a new screen on my HTC one x since the old one had cracked but this new LCD seems to be less sensitive at some spots on the screen. Do I need to somehow calibrate the new LCD via some software on the device or should this not be needed ?

[Q] how do I find out the version of the installed bootloader?

I have a functioning but not up to date setup:
Apollo Nexus v2.0.1 which is unfortunately in the stock slot of Safestrap v3.75, no other ROM slots and previous FireOS backup leaves screen blank (boots and ADB accessible).
(The backstory to this: some update had gone wrong at the end of last year I this status is all I could manage to get to a functioning state.)
Now I would like to move to unlocked bootloader, TWRP and CM12.1
I tried to unlock the bootloader using the method with cuberHDX posted in other threads but in fastboot after
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash unlock 0xmmssssssss.unlock
I am getting
FAILED (remote: Unlock code is NOT correct)

I don't know what seems to be the problem. After the messy "fixes" from the end of last year I cannot quite remember which was the last version of the FireOS (and hence the bootloader that came along with it) that was installed.

--> Can anyone tell me how to find out the version of the bootloader?
Any other suggestions how to get out of my non-upgradeable situation? Any help greatly appreciated.

Gapps Error When Installed CMREMIX Rom [T-Mobile Note 4]

Hello xda community,

I am new to rooting, but I think I got the basics. It took me less than an hour to root my device get twrp through Odin and install a ROM on my device. I have a Note 4 and was tired of TouchWiz and didn't really like trying different launchers, but still have Samsung features, anyways I installed CMRemix without GApps and everything was working, well everything, but I couldn't do anything throughout the ROM, so I installed GApps from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...gapps-t3116347 and got the Stock one. When I got it onto my device, I would start it and I would see this page which you choose your language, set up your Wi-Fi and if there are any updates needed. Between this, it says, "unfortunantly Google Play Newstand has stopped", along with Google Play services. I press ok and this page that says Tap &Go, I press skip, because that is the only option and it goes back to my Wi-Fi, which I already set up and it looks for updates again and I can not fully set up my device.

Sorry for the long intro. Some things may seem confusing, and I will elaborate and clarify if needed. Maybe a rookie mistake :)

Thanks in Advance, Akash

Insane amount of crashes using Benzo, wiped and installed Bliss Pop now horrible batt

I started with Benzo and everything seemed fine for the first few days aside from an occasional 'This App' has stopped working crash. Things started getting worse, screen freezing, random reboots and then losing my data connections. It eventually became so unstable that it was stuck in a boot loop. I debated trying to see if I could get some logs and submit them over to the Benzo team but decided to just wipe everything and try another ROM. I settled in Bliss Pop. Today is my first real use and I am less than pleased with how fast I am draining my battery. I had it on the charger all night to 100% and have been watching as the percentage is slowly going down as I use the phone. According to my battery stats I will be dead by 10:00. That gives me 3 hours. I went from 100% to 75% in 42 minutes.

Suggestions?

How I've Installed CyanogenMod on the Motorola RAZR HD (GSM) - the "xt925"

Disclaimers

- First of all: if you want to use clockwork or have the latest android releases, do yourself a favor and get a Nexus phone. Or, maybe, a OnePlus. In worst case scenario, go for freaking Samsung. Don't think Motorola, LG or anything else will make things easier. It won't.

- Well, I just spent a whole freaking day stuck in a few points which could have been made much simpler if there was a few points better explained in a lot of good other tutorials I've found along the way.

- But, at the same time, I honestly think writing in this forum is too dreadful (at least I could find no way to write with some markup). Only reason I'm doing this here is lack of a better place for good visibility positioning. In other words, so someone who might need this info can actually find it. Sorry if this offends anyone. It's about the same reason I believe in using eBay first to sell my used stuff instead of craiglist or dropbox. Most people who'd want "stuff" will look on eBay first.

- Here's the same guide in my "blog / forum" by the way.

A "bad guide", with no revisions

The main reference to me was, as one might expect, from cyanogen mod wiki.

The real steps needed are very similar:

1. Unlock device
2. Install recovery using fastboot
3. Wipe every single thing
4. Install CyanogenMod from recovery

All steps but 3 can be found on that wiki. Step 3 can actually become really big. Making it as clean as possible could be very complicated. Or very simple.

The most important thing is understanding the concepts of what's being done and knowing how long each step can actually take. Specially the ones that give no feedback. Such as that terrible horrible loading screen, which I've learned to hate. The "spinning CM robot" should appear for 1 or 2 minutes at most, but that's way too far from clear and that info is nowhere to be found.

I won't repeat the tutorial, rather I'll explain it and correct it.

Unlocking Device

This is for allowing your Razr to be tweaked. And it's not rooting the device as it may appear (being somewhat a newbie and not too interested in rooting, I've mixed up the concepts).

Other than this, the steps on the wiki are pretty clear and complete here, I don't see how anything could go wrong if you just follow it.

I've got no screen that would be more than a few seconds without a feedback.

Recovery and fastboot

This starts to present apparently minor issues.

It says to use Clockwork Mod but all newest files to download on the other wiki page itself already bring a Recovery Image. Now, CWM is well established and used, but the versions linked there didn't work on my device. Only the new Cyanogen Recovery works. And it's not as complete as, although I really appreciate the higher simplicity there. Anyway, in the end CWM is just not needed, a version I could find that loads can't install any ZIP and it ends up just holding back because it offers a lot of useless options.

And "Volume Down + Power" doesn't work to boot into recovery. At all. You need to hold Volume Up + Power, or some sort of combination from Vol Up & Down & Power. It's easier to just look for videos of how it's done. I can do it quickly most of the times using Vol Down & holding Power to boot into fastboot, and then just hold Vol Down and quickly hold power for 1 second, release, and keep holding Vol Up until a menu opens up in which you can choose to boot to Recovery (or back to Fastmode as well).

Those misleading things there held me back 1 hour at first... But the CWM really screwed me up big, wasting time trying to use it to fix stuff. It's just not enough. I guess.

Maybe, however, there's one thing it could prove to be important. Backing up. Install it for this, if you're worried about trying to recover data without using google's own backups, after android is installed. To me, that was more than enough.

I've got no screen that would be more than a half a minute without a feedback.

Wipe every single thing

`fastboot -w`. That's all that took me, although it did give errors and I still saw many warnings through the whole process, if only I knew this command before, it would have saved me 20 hours or so.

Maybe it was the sum of cleaning up stuff with CWM, but I doubt it.

I really don't want to get into more details here, right now.

I've got no screen that would be more than a few seconds without a feedback for anything I've done in this step.

Recovery for CM

You probably also want to install google apps. Just take the nano OpenGApps. And if you're trying to use CM stable and it bricks, just get the nightly build.

If you're lucky, installing with sideload should be enough. All those options are just means to getting the zip files into the device for recovery installation and if you'd only have to use sideload once it's perfect. Having to use it again eventually is a pain, because it doesn't save local copies on the device.

Another 2 options: You could also have a SD card to USB adapter, or use CWM mounting SD card and transfer everything through the USB cable.

The biggest missing information in this step, however, is this: the loading CM robot screen, which appears after you boot, when that wiki guide is over and it thinks "everything is fine". It should be not more than 2 minutes, from my experience.

But google says otherwise. You might be led to believe it could take many minutes, maybe as much as 10. Which can easily be extrapolated by "well, maybe it takes 15". Before you know it, you're easily wasting hours waiting for it.

So, there you go. Hope this might have been of any help to you! ;P

I was trying to install paranoid rom, installed twrp did fartory reset in twrp, installed paranoid rom sucessfully. Tried to install google apps, got error 70 due to insufficient space. Rebooted in twrp and now I am stuck.

I have an lg ms323 from metropcs. The phone will not go into any mode if you turn phone off then turn back on holding down the power button and +volume (releasing power button when phone vibrates). It just goes back to old carbon 4.4.4 rom again without installing anything.

Do you know of anything I can do to try and save the phone. When hooked up to usb and computer, I can see my files on the phone, both internal storage and external sdcard.
