I just bought a 9.7" Galaxy Tab S2 at our local BestBuy (San Jose, CA). Brought it home, turned it on, entered my Google account email and password. Everything went fine except for that leftmost swipe screen that Samsung calls "Briefing" and uses to display various aggregated news. 95% of that page is in Indonesian language! When I activated my tablet, I selected "English (United States)" as the language. Everything is "English" in my Google account. All my language and location settings are US English, US English and only US English. Yet the Briefing page articles are in Indonesian. Maybe 5% of them are in English, but the overwhelming majority is not.
I contacted Samsung Support and they connected to my tablet with their "Tutor" app. They couldn't fix it. That page is still in Indonesian.
I did two factory resets, trying no to enter my Google account info. No change. "Briefing" page articles are in Indonesian. There's was a brief moment after one of the factory resets when "Briefing" page refreshed to US-specific articles in English for a short period of time. But after another refresh it switched back to Indonesian again.
In the end Samsung support gave up and said that the device is apparently defective. I'll try to exchange it at BestBuy tomorrow (being almost sure that the next device will suffer from the same problem).
Has anyone experienced anything like that? Maybe I'm missing something easy?
