[Q] Is it possible to go from Verizon to Sprint?

So I've been kind of stuck with Verizon because I've been on a family plan with my family members not really being able to switch since everyone would have to at the same time, but lately we've been kind of looking at Sprint. The problem is, while they can use the whole plan to upgrade their phones, I really kind of need to stay with the same thing since the only newer phones that suit me anymore would be SONY's compact phones (which I really do wish I could switch to I admit, but of course GSM only.) Even my M7 is a bit large and uncomfortable for me, but it's at least tolerable.

So my question is: is it possible to adapt my M7 to work on Sprint? From what I've read lately, it's now currently legal to actually do things like unlocking and such (in fact, normally they are supposed to help the user be able to switch, but mine is currently unlocked and running a third party ROM and I absolutely do not want to lose this.) Or have I completely misunderstood? (I'm not trying to circumvent any laws here, so just let me know if I have misunderstood the recent ruling, but I'm pretty sure that it is basically extremely legal for now until they reevaluate the matter very soon.) With most phones and services it doesn't even matter. Just pop in a SIM card and that's just about it. Unfortunately, Verizon is a bit tricky with ridiculously locked down bootloaders and such. I presume it's basically setup to specifically look for a Verizon network only? I think Sprint is supposed to be much more lenient in this respect, but can I take a Verizon model and make it work on a Sprint network at all? Would I need to flash modems and bootloaders or what if I it is possible?

One thing I can say: from looking at the Wiki page on CyanogenMod's site -- asuming it's accurate -- this model phone specifically supports CDMA 1900 and 800MHz, which are two of the main things Sprint uses. (I also see mention of a 2.5GHz band which I guess this doesn't support, but I see 4G is available on 1900 and to some extent maybe even 800 if I read correctly.) Oddly I don't see mention of which bands are supported at all on places like Wikipedia. It probably doesn't matter though since presumably Verizon is basically using the same thing but in other words as far as I know it does support Sprint's frequencies. (Which isn't really a surprise since they likely use the exact same hardware and just load different software.)
