Brand new G4 (H815L) performance issues

Hey fellas!

Just got a new G4 to replace my Nexus 5, and I'm encountering some heavily disappointing performance issues like:

poor 3D performance - games like Boom Beach and Smash Hit run just... bad. mediocre/low fps gaming, where my Nexus 5 did perfectly fine!

2D performance (UI) - sometimes laggy UI transitions, typing really quick with SwiftKey keyboard is impossible, it's like the phone can't keep up with what I'm clicking fast, feels majorly laggy.

Anything I'm missing? and low performance/battery saving settings I'm missing? what's happening... oO

A trick to improve performance when completely stock?

TL; DR
Disable Android System WebView
Reboot
Profit - let me know it's a placebo otherwise, it worked for me and xperia dudes.

-full rambling

Hi everyone, hope I'm posting in the right section.
Some months ago my nexus 4 broke to a pricey degree and so I upgraded to this beautiful piece of moto.
I had done my fair share of modding on the n4, trying to really squeeze the best out of it, so it was refreshing to move to a device that didn't scream for the development scene it never got, because all would work well.
And it did, except for the fact that almost every time I used the device I couldn't help thinking that this wasn't that much of a performance upgrade from my previous droid. Navigating the interface would always feel a bit stuttery, janky, at times even laggy.
Didn't really feel like rolling back to KitKat as I dig 5.1 so I flew across xda for some research on no-root exploits.
And then, eureka! Some wonderful guys over at the xperia z1 forum found that disabling Android System WebView would help with smoothness.
It did. Reboot and see for yourself! I really think it brought my X to its full potential as no feature is broken. Browsers work like a charm, in fact I just typed all of this from the phone.

Performance questions - swap, RAM; Google Play Music

Hello!
I've been using XT1032 for a while as someone that's mostly new to smartphones - it's an upgrade after heavily worn out LG GT540. However after rooting it, installing official CM and updating to the latest nightlies every second day or so, I still have several problems. I'm sorry if there's too little detail in this post, I'll try to add detail later on.
First off, I don't understand how the storage space works. The phone is supposed to have 8GBs of internal memory, however only 5.5GBs are accessible to the user. Additionally, applications refuse to install when the system reports that there's ~400MBs of "space" left. Is this because of a partition being filled up? The Apps panel of system settings isn't specific what is taking up too much space and I'm afraid the DiskUsage app doesn't help either.
Second thing is the actual available RAM. It's supposed to be 1 GB, but Z-DeviceTest reports only 885MBs being available. Where's the rest? There's also swap of 255MBs that I don't know where it came from. I thought that on a low-end smartphone they wouldn't waste internal storage on swap.
There's a trick to increasing available storage space by linking the /cache folder to root. How does that work? How do I know if the folder is being used or not, and if it's safe to do this? DiskUsage doesn't show this folder normally, and when switching to it in root it's being 651MBs large, with "System data" taking up 11.2MBs and pds-CM10.img 3MBs. There's also recovery and backup folders, 56KBs and 16KBs respectively. Why is it this big anyhow, if it's not being used?
The most immediate problem, and the one that annoys me the most since I bought the phone for a certain purpose, is that Google Play Music is lagging terribly. It uses ~110MBs when I switch to the Running Apps screen from the settings quickly enough to check its stats, each song takes several seconds to load even on WiFi, no matter the quality, and the worst part is that even if it "loads up" it takes several additional seconds to scroll around it! It's not just the playing affected, the whole interface is sluggish. Screens take seconds to switch between each other, returning to the app after opening two applications makes it either "restart", where it still plays music, but you can see that the interface is now several screens back. How is it possible that in 2015 an operating system developer can't make a performant app that's not a game, that's not a video editor, but a god damn music player? The only quirk is that it's streaming the music from the net instead of playing a downloaded file. It has a cache that uses over 700MBs already, no excuses. I checked that with DiskUsage.

Few questions regarding this phone and performance.

I've read many reviews and watched dozens regarding the performance of this phone but I wanted to get some real user experiences. I'm planning to upgrade to this from my G3 which is hands down the worst phone I've ever had. So far, this phone looks promising but I wanted to know how it performs. My G3 lags really really bad and overheats to 95c+ which led to me having to downclock it. How does the XStyle (Pure) perform? Does the phone lag when multi tasking? How hot does the CPU get? Does it throttle? I don't really care for battery life as I'm never too far from a charger.

I'd really appreciate some answers to my questions as my current phone is really getting on my last nerves.

Thanks.

Better camera performance? Lenovo A6000

Hello
I was wondering if its possible to lower the compression and noise of the photos with root and editing some files. Or somehow to enhance photo quality.
I had Nokia N8 which has still awesome quality of photos and now I have this lenovo and I'm thinking about improveing the photo quality as much as possible.
Thanks

Best optimized kernel for performance, battery life and tweaking.

Hello chaps:cool:

I would like some suggestions on kernels that i could use with Sixperience ROM. Got a bit tired of CM after using it for 6 months.. But yeah, if anyone would like to give some tips on some fantastic kernels that would be veeeeeery appreciated!!

Thanks

WiFi performance

Unfortunately my router Fritzbox7362 does not support 5ghz network so I had to stick with 2.4ghz. All my other devices have a stable 45-50 mbps download and 10 for the upload but my NP seemed no to work properly in terms of download spee (youtube for instance lowers the quality according to available speed and the result is pixelated videos) ! Soo i decided to find a way to check the internet speed!

Results (if accurate-via html5 site www.bandwidthplace.com) are disappointing!!!!
2mbps download
10mbps upload

Anyone else deals with this issue????

Has anyone tested if overclocking is actually increasing performance?

The msm8226 chipset is known with other phones (like the Moto G) to be hard locked at 1.2ghz. If you overclock above that amount, benchmarks don't increase, which means you're still actually running at 1.2ghz.

Has anyone that's overclocked this phone done any benchmarks to see if it's actually working? I'm a developer, and I'm interested in seeing if there's a way to actually overclock these.
