Lg d410 display unresponsive at times

I'm running 5.0.2 stock lollipop on my lg d410 and sometimes the display just becomes unresponsive. Not completely, it does sense a touch sometimes but almost in an error kinda of a way and I'm not able to use the phone or even unlock the phone cause of that. This happens randomly and it starts working again by itself. I'm guessing its a software issue. But what's causing it and how can I fix it? Should I downgrade to kitkat? Has anyone else faced this problem? Really need some help with this cause I love the phone and I don't wanna lose it cause of this silly issue. Any help is much appreciated. :)
