HAM2 Skins?

I've been interested in having skins on my phones, but I've never had a phone popular enough for companies to produce skins for them.

The HAM2 is no different, but I just found this carbon fiber-looking skin, which, as far as I can tell, is one of the few skins out there for the HAM2. Does anyone here have it, or experience with skins? Are they more protective than cases? Are they grippy or still slippery? The case I have now is a Nillkin slim case.
