I know replacement batteries exist, but frankly when you can get a whole new unit for just a little bit more outside of scrounging on Ebay I dunno...
The short is I was able to get my nearly dead battery working long enough to pull what I needed from the tablet itself but now it won't even charge (just goes from green LED to Yellow, and then off.)
Normal behavior is if you plug a nook in with no battery attached you get a red LED and a pictogram on screen that is effectively 'plug battery in.' I think this is stupid behavior from a consumer standpoint since if the device is good and i have power, I should be able to use it in some capacity.
What i want is to be able to plug my nook in and just have it do stuff, even if it immediately dies when unplugged it would still be useful, like... for instnace if I want to hook it to a wall and watch youtube or listen to music while I'm on the treadmill, or weight lifting, or something.
Honestly doubt it can be done, but I figure... ask.
