Camera is very slow to focus

I know it's late to ask this but i have this phone for quite a while now. Since brand new, i have always noticed that the camera auto focusing has been really really laggy and it gets worse under dimmer conditions. Touch to focus is a tad faster but then its not as great too. I used to have a iPhone 5 and it was a fast snapper and i rarely miss a shot with my active toddler around. With my note 3, most of the time i am missing moments even with him (my tod) being less active!

Is this merely due to software / OS or hardware limitations? Is there anyway to fix this ?

Please advise. :cowboy:

Camera Focus

I just picked up a Galaxy S6 Edge on Sprint. Phone is running nice but it has its hiccups at times. (I'm coming from an iPhone 6Plus). One thing that bugs the crap out of me is the camera. When I double press my home button, camera launches but it is so blurry. I press the screen and try to get it to focus but does not work. I have to completely shake the phone for it to get to focus. Is there anyone else with this problem?

6P Cases Warning - Manny may break the camera (Laser Auto Focus Blocked)

I was looking at the cases posted on Amazon for the 6P so far and quickly noticed that almost all of them appear to block the Laser Auto-Focus. Whatever the cause, if you buy a case that does this it WILL break camera focusing which will make the camera practically useless. Be warned and shop smart.

Edit, can a mod please fix my stupid spelling mistake in the title.

Camera Focus not working (Manual & Auto)

So since I updated to OxygenOS 2.1 my camera focus has stopped working, I've tried the stock camera app, Open Camera and Camera360, none of them can use the focus, neither manual focus or auto focus.

I've tried both wiping the cache and a factory reset, neither of which worked. So what do I do now? Is it possible to roll back the OS to 2.0.2 or 2.0.1? Should I install(reinstall?) 2.1 again? I'm very noob when it comes to tinkering with my phones OS in this kind of way. I really do need to get this sorted, so if you tell me what I need to do either give me a noob-friendly description of how to do it or link me to a noob-friendly guide for this stuff. Really out of my comfort zone here, so afraid of bricking my phone(first nice phone I've let myself buy in years).

Phone is not rooted.

Why do Qualcomm still focus on increasing core count instead of IPC improvements?

Hey guys.

Was recently reading up on Apple's new A9 processor and was slightly surprised to see it still used just 2 cores. However, the single-core performance of these bad boys is monstrous! And in my opinion, far more important than the multi-core scores when compared to 8-core processors from Qualcomm and Samsung. It's no secret that iOS generally does a lot of things much quicker (including generally better graphical performance) and also generally uses less power to do so than an Android device. I generally don't like Apple's products anymore, and this won't change anything. But they do things so darn well it's difficult to not give them credit where credit is due. The fact that the iPhone 6S has a battery size of about 1715mAH is insance when you think about Android phones with comparible battery lifes generally have batteries around 2500-2800mAH. That's a big difference. Is it largely down to iOS vs Android rather than the actual SoCs themselves? Or are Apple just amazing chip designers?

It reminds me of an AMD vs Intel debate, where AMD go for octa-core CPUs with super high clock speeds that tick all the boxes on paper, but then in reality are beaten out by even dual core offerings from Intel with lower or comparable clock speeds. Or when an 8MP camera on an iPhone beats out a 21MP camera on an Android phone. Time and time again manufacturers are more interested in the technical specs than the real life performance.

Any ideas?

Tap to focus in video mode ?

Do you think we will get an update with this feature ?

The problem is, not only there is no tap to focus in the motorola camera app, BUT even when trying with other apps, tap to focus in video is not working (open camera for example)
