Cannot recieved text

Purchased a Moto x PE from best buy unlocked. Was using it with T-Mobile perfectly for 2 days and now today I cannot receive text messages. I can place and receive calls, send texts, access data and the only way I can receive texts are if I place an active call I get bombarded with texts that I did not receive before. I performed factory reset and did not fixed issue. I also reseted the APN settings and problem still persists.... :(

[Q] Text messages from one contact blank on wifes and my Note 4 using stock app

[Q] On both my Note 4 (rooted running hybrid X 2.0 lollipop 5.01) and my wife's Note 4 (rooted running Hybrid X lollipop 5.1.1) in group text messages most of the texts from her brother are blank. They have his name but no message. A few will come through and if he sends a message to just one of us it works. It does not matter if he has a picture attached or just plain text. He is on Verizon and has been to one of their stores to see if the problem was on his end. They said it must be on our Sprint end, of course.

I have deleted his contact on both our phones and re-added it and still get blank messages from him when he replies to a group message. A few will slip through where we see his text but most are just his name with the body of the message blank. This does not happen with any other contact regardless of carrier. I have been through all the settings in the stock app and changed things one at a time but nothing there fixes the problem. Googling turned up a few with similar issues but with no suggestions that fixed our problem. All the others in the group message get his replies every time.

Any ideas on a fix? It must be rare because searches do not find much that is similar.

Text could be improved?

I occasionally read a book or a longer text on the EPD of my YP2, usually with the YotaReader app. That works ok, but there's a small issue that annoys me: it's the jagged edges of the characters, which makes the appearance of the text less nice.

Yota uses a black & white only (2 color) mode of the EPD to provide maximum frames per second (8) without flashing, which allows for relatively smooth interaction with the EPD screen. The technique comes in handy when scrolling webpages, turning YotaReader pages without flickering, and many interactive screens, like navigating Apps in mirroring mode.

The EPD can also draw in 16 colors, which is used for the Yota panels screens, and e.g. the YotaSnap picture viewer. With 16 colors, it provides far nicer quality than the 2 color mode, at the expense of slower drawing and extra flashing.

Text rendered in 16 colors looks much prettier. I'd like to be able to read a book like that!

I've been thinking for a while about a gesture that would allow the current 2 color screen contents to be re-rendered at 16 colors. So imagine browsing a web page on the EPD, or reading a book and when you're done scrolling/turning a page to a location you actually want to read or look at for longer, you'd make the gesture and the screen would 'beautify' itself into 16 colors. You could not interact with it smoothly anymore at that point, but reading or showing pictures etc would be nicer. Maybe it would be possible to flash the screen and return to 2 color mode when starting to scroll again etc.

Not sure how to go about this, but using xposed it would be possible to hook into the JNI calls that ultimately dither and draw stuff onto the back screen, or maybe at a higher level like the backscreen manager.

There are alternatives, like adapting FBReader for the EPD, with optional 16 color mode, but the gesture solution could in theory apply to anything on the screen, not just a reader app.

Anyone interested to help dig into this?

Attach photo to text auto send MMS.

I had a friend today ask why when adding a photo to a text it auto sends without giving the option to add text like normal.

I had noticed that on my Edge+ but did not pay much attention. Now with the inquiry I have spent some time investigating.

1. Went to send them a photo using gallery as default selected photo and "Done" displayed in the top right corner.

2. Performed a master reset and attempted the same. Tapped add image and had Photos and Gallery as the option selected Gallery. Now once the photo was selected it displayed "Send" in the top right corner. Updated all apps restarted the phone and performed the test again. This time "Done" was the option.

At this point I assumed it was taken care of so I told them to update their apps. No change on their end.

3. Cleared the default apps and did another test this time it asked if I wanted to use Gallery, Photos, or One Drive. Selected gallery and the option "Done" displayed again.

4. I then uninstalled updates for One Drive and disabled the app. Went to send the message and sure enough "Send" was my only option.

5. Enabled One Drive and installed the updates then cleared the default apps again. One Drive did not show and "Send" was still the option. Restarted the device cleared the defaults One Drive showed again and "Done" displayed.

This is all using the factory messaging app. I wanted to get this out there and possibly get some feedback if you are also having this issue and if this takes care of it on your device.

edge display text messages

Hi,

Is there any way or mod using root to have the edge screen display only instead of manually rubbing the screen to show the notification. I'm super stumped and really can't figure it out. If you have a trick, app or mod mod for root or whatever anything to acomplish this task?

Text messages failing to send

Me and my wife got the note 5's at rhe same time. Hers fails to send text messages constantly, update profile and they work for a second or two but then same thing. Contacted sprint and they reset the network and ok for a few sec and issues again. Anyone have this issue? Anyone have suggestions of a fix?

[Problem] Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F restarts when opening text messages

Just yesterday my Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F running Android 5.0 had a problem. When I open a text message, regardless of the sender, my phone automatically reboots. This doesn't happen all the time but it happens most of the time. At first I thought it was bad software so I did a factory reset but the problem is still there. I checked my battery and it's not bulging also. Nevertheless, I still used my phone even though it keeps on restarting and everytime this happens I carefully observed and what actions or situations might cause it and I came up with a finding. My phone only restarts when I open a text message in which the "Envelope" notification does not disappear on the status bar. Normally when you open an unread text message, the "Envelope" notification on the status bar should disappear since you already opened the message but mine doesn't disappear and after a few seconds my phone would restart. Can you help me on this? My phone is updated to the latest firmware provided for my region. Thanks in advance.

Text message delay

Has anyone else had any issues with text messages sending and receiving with significant delay? I will check the phone in the morning and it will show no notifications. If I text someone or call someone I will immediately get a backlog of text messages/ voicemail notifications, the time stamp on the text messages will be as if I received them regularly without delay.

Enter doesn't display properly in incoming text messages

On my old phone (Droid Bionic) a friend and I had a pattern of carrying on multiple simultaneous conversations by text message by splitting up individual conversations via enter, e.g.:
"hey blah blah blah

other stuff blah"
this worked fine on my old phone, however now when I receive texts from her, if it is more than 145 characters long, instead of displaying an enter between messages, it just displays as a space, so the previous example (assuming there were more characters to push it over the one message 145 limit) would display as:
"bey blah blah blah other stuff blah"
Has anyone encountered this issue before, or no a way to fix it? The phone I'm being sent these texts from is an iPhone, I believe on AT&T, and I have an international unlocked S6 on AT&T.

Text file busy?

Text send issues

Hi y'all,
new Honor 7 owner here, and quite happy with it so far!
Anyway, I face a bug while texting : I randomly get an error message saying my text was not sent, even if generally (but not each time!) the recipient actually receives the text correctly.
This seems to be a common problem that is already discussed on a French android forum, many Honor 7 users here seem to face the same issue, and we still haven't found exactly when it happens : we highly suspect it only happens when the phone is on 4G, no problem when it's on 3G/H+... Can't figure out why anyway.
But what strikes me is that I haven't found anything on that on forums from other countries, like here on xda for instance : have you guys heard of that terrible issue?
I said "terrible" because when you send a text, you're never sure the recipient really received, that's pretty much stressful!
