WHAT is going on? Gallery no pics, Google contacts disappear.... Internal corruption

Long story short, I've flashed a bunch of Roms. And every Rom I try I get two errors constantly ::

1) Gallery displays 0 pics/videos then FC! (I have plenty of pics and videos

2) My contacts disappear and I only see numbers,

Both of these issues persist EVEN AFTER a full complete wipe of everything, internal and full wipes..... I even started from scratch!!

WTF, I am beyond pissed off! Running Greenify, Amplify and Xposed with Sultans Unofficial CyanogenMod, stock everything

CM 10.1.3.2 Possible (SD card) file system corruption problem

Firstly it is necessary to express gratitude to you developers and your work. In my case, specifically in development work for older devices such as the Nook Color. Sincere thanks.

Using TWRP_2.3.0.2-encore-1gbimg writ to a 2gb SD card of unknown brand, I installed CM 10.1.3.2-encore.zip, gapps-jb-20130812-signed.zip, and openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.0-encore-signed.zip to my NookColor. The installation was successful. All MD5s were checked prior to installation.

However, I soon noticed problems with the behavior of the file system. At times, application downloads via play store would fail due to "unknown error". In file manager, various folders including the root would change to read-only, and then there were obvious signs of file corruption. Saved images from Wikipedia or Internet browser display as corrupted within the Gallery app, or not display at all. I suspect it has something to do with the sdcard1 folder, but I am not certain as I am not fully knowledgeable about the inner workings of Android. Cache file processes seem to have problems in correctly writing and/or reading to and from the SD card. Again, this is just a guess based on inspecting files while I was trying to gather troubleshooting info. I did several wipes and cache clears via boot recovery, and several reflashes. I reformatted my SD card using the offical SD Formatter application prior to reinstalls. But to no avail.

I was hoping there might be anyone out there who could take the time to offer any advice as to how to go about finding a solution to the problems I describe.
