wipe internal storage

I have decided to wipe the internal storage because I have the dreaded Miscellaneous Storage problem, and have been unable to find the culprit file or folder. :silly:

I have seen the "Mounts and storage" section in the CWM recovery, how do I do the internal storage wipe??
And here's the stupid question: won't that also delete the CWM recovery????

My nexus 5 won't boot up after deleting internal memory.

I have installed cataclysm rom after doing the full wipe and it booted up without problems but then I deleted internal memory in twrp and it didn't boot anymore. I have tried reinstalling it but when it started there was no status bar and no soft keys...What's wrong? Can anyone help me? Thanks.

i recently flash an unofficial ROM.. cyanogenmod 12.1-20150829-UNOFFICIAL-lt01wifi android 5.1.1 on my tab 3 8.0(SM-T310)..
i found that now my internal storage is wright-protected or something like that.. i am unable to download any file from internet or files from bluetooth or from my pc. Even to make a new folder, i have to grant root access to file manager.. can anyone help me, changing any permissions or flash any file so that i could use my internalSD...

ASKING IF THERE ARE ANY WAYS ON HOW TO REPARTITION RAM from Internal Memory???

I got this procedure from a group in FB wherein i have done repartition (getting memory from internal to RAM)

Example: BEFORE = Internal 16GB / RAM 1GB
AFTER = Internal 12 GB / RAM 4.5GB

I have actually done this on my other android phone, but apparently the flashable source cannot be used from samsung galaxy s3..

Something like that.... do anyone know how to do this on samsung galaxy s3?

Recover data from android phone internal memory when phn not starting

I installed Cydia Substrate app for WinterBoard theme engine. but after opening cydia it asked permission to soft reboot. after that phone keeps on rebooting showing micromax logo. after that it doesn't load anything. keeps rebooting.

Now I have our ganpati festival images saved in intenal memory. want to recover. how can I do it. please help.
I don't want to lose those pics.

[Q] Lenovo K3 Note - Internal Storage 0MB

First of all, my english isn't very good.
Ok, I have a huge problem with my lenovo k3 note, I was listening to music yesterday and suddenly it stopped. I tried to unlock, restart itp but nothing. Finally I took off the battery and they restarted the phone, it stopped on Lenovo bootloader, so again battery, restart and this time I went to TWRP recovery. I wanted to restore one of my backups, but there is no backups, internal storage is 0mb, I can't do factory reset, I can't install any zip, nothing. Windows 10 sees just external SD card, no intenal memory.
Entering TWRP makes errors in console like this:
E: Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer.
E: Unable to mount '/data'
E: Unable to recreate /data/media folder.
Updating partition details...
E: Unable to mount '/protect_f'
E: Unable to mount '/protect_s'
E: Unable to mount '/cache'
E: Unable to mount '/data'
...done
E: Unable to mount storage.
E: Unable to mount /data/media during GUI startup.

and some more "unable to mount /data".

So I tried to flash original rom with sp flash tool, but on my last rom (MIUI 7 custom) I didn't enable USB debbuging. Every stable ROM or flash tool version I try, every time and the end there is BROM ERROR: S_CHCKSUM_ERROR (1041) and if I boot my phone after such flash it stops on bootloader and in TWRP still internal storage 0mb. I've tried do sth with adb but it doesn't detect my phone, flash tool works though.

I don't know what to do, please guys help me! It's my first android phone and rooting a phone and recovery was a challenge (just installing roms from twrp is very easy) and I really need your help, so please help me.

Stuck in boot loop after insufficient space on internal storage

Hey guys, I need some help.
My beloved phone got too full the other night and ended up in a coma. Now she..I mean it, wont wake up anymore. I can only get her to open her eyes enough for a couple of blinks, but never really to a conscious state. I'm certainly not willing to let her go and want to keep her from loosing all the good memories we had together... Please help me safe her!...

Enough storytelling...

I've got the Samsung GT-I9252 (Galaxy S4 Active), which is not rooted. Recently I updated to Lollipop which worked fine without any issues.
As I am a usual data horder, I quickly ran out of space (yes, both on the SD card and the internal memory), so that I constantly saw the warning in the status bar that the phone ran out of memory. As I wasn't near a computer I could use for a while to move some files, I continued using it as normal. Because of the lack of memory, the google play store would not install any updates, which was totally fine. However, the Samsung app-store-thing seemed to care a bit less about it and tried to force to download and install what it thought to be "important updates", like for example "text-to-speach" (I haven't even figured out how to use that feature)... Even though there would not be enough space. And I couldn'd really do anything to stop it. The phone started to get slower and I wasn't even able to take pictures anymore (still not around a computer to tranfer data). So the other day I wanted to restart the phone (as I had done a couple of times since the message of lack of space) and it would just not boot up anymore.

It is stuck at the Samsung logo.
My first thought was, well I simply plug it into a computer and transfer some data to make some space and then it would boot up again, but I had to find out that you do not simply plug your phone into a computer and access its data if it refuses to boot...

So I read about the safe mode and tried to find it without any luck (either I'm too stupid to activate it or it got removed). Next I tried to sweep the cache partition, as I managed to get into the recovery boot. It got deleted, but the phone would still not boot.
I definitley want to avoid a factory reset for various reasons!

Then I read about some ways to push/pull data from your phone with a computer, when in recovery mode (with ADB if I recall correctly)... But that's kind of as far as I got.

Now I'm asking for your help and expertise.
Do you think it would be possible to transfer and/or delete some files and if that would solve the problem and lets the phone boot up again; and if yes, how should I approach? Or do you think the cause for the problem lies somewhere completely different?

WHAT is going on? Gallery no pics, Google contacts disappear.... Internal corruption

Long story short, I've flashed a bunch of Roms. And every Rom I try I get two errors constantly ::

1) Gallery displays 0 pics/videos then FC! (I have plenty of pics and videos

2) My contacts disappear and I only see numbers,

Both of these issues persist EVEN AFTER a full complete wipe of everything, internal and full wipes..... I even started from scratch!!

WTF, I am beyond pissed off! Running Greenify, Amplify and Xposed with Sultans Unofficial CyanogenMod, stock everything

Copied corrupted file from extsd to internal sd. Now internal sd is readonly. Help.

Phone: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3100
OS: 5.1.1 (SOKP Rom)
Gapps: Aroma gapps from opengapps


I had accidentally disconnected tablet when the said file was copying in external sd. Without realizing, copied the same to internal sd from external sd. Now at times internal sd becomes readonly and causes all sorts of crashes, mostly in gapps, play services, whatsapp etc.

I wiped entire internalsd, used repair in TWRP (usual linux command), even switched filesystem from ext4 to fat, back to ext4. Did this in all partitions still no avail. Only temporary relief is installing a ROM from scratch without restoring whole backups or appdata. Even then within a month problem reappears.

Would somehow unmounting and scanning through PC help? How to do it?
Any other help appreciated.

Guys, I need some help -- can't copy files to sdcard or internal memory after TWRP fo

Long story short -- I'm selling my Note 4 so I wiped/formatted EVERYTHING (used "format data" option in TWRP which required me to type "yes"). After that happened I found I didn't have an OS installed. Ok, no big deal right? I'll mount my sdcard and copy the stock firmware over than flash with TWRP.

WRONG. Every time I try to copy a file to either the sd card or the internal storage, I get the following error message:

Wtf? In file explore it says that the SD card has 29.7GB free space available. And internal storage has 24.1GB. Obviously something is not right here.

Is it possible that TWRP didn't format things correctly? I just want to know how to fix this so I can get the stock firmware back on this bad boy and get it sold. I have been out of the android scene for awhile so any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Also, not sure if it's worth noting but when I mount my Note 4 in windows with TWRP both the internal storage and sd card have like no file structure or files whatsoever. Completely empty. Also interesting is every time I reboot with TWRP, it asks if I want to install supersu or whatever to root the phone. I say "yes" but each time I reboot after that it asks me the same thing like it didn't actually do anything.

Edit vold.fstp to swap internal to external sdcard

I am using HTC desire 516 dual sim phone and unable to do anything with 145MB space left in internal memory.
I have rooted my phone as it was already out of warranty and have RootExplorer to access vold.fstb file.
However unable to do so as my file says only
(dev_mount sdcard /storage/sdcard1 auto /devices/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host) and I am unable to identify the change.

[Q][Help] Memory Internal Problem Size after using .pit file

My 16GB Note N7000 phone have a problem after using pit with (n7000 16gb variant - 12gb data.pit) to re-size device memory. After i finish installing the pit and reset factory, the Device memory change to 11,78GB just like what i want, but the USB Storage now only have 1.08GB.
Is that normal :confused: now my phone Device is 9GB used!!, i just install common social media(not HD game and i'm not save media to device), and the USB Storage now 900Mb used!!! this make me cannot open my gallery.

I try to flashing using odin with firmware N7000DXLSE_N7000OLBLSE_N7000DXLS8_HOME.TAR.md5
and it's nothing happen :eek:

Internal storage full - but NO files on phone.

So, this issue happened a month ago or so. I had many ROMs on my phone and I noticed that my memory is starting to shrink. I'll post a screeshoot now.
The misc. thingy is the problem. When i touch it, it shows me a list of files that I can clean and I barely have 80 MB of chache files there.

Since I'm new to the forum I had to upload there images and shorten the links, copy paste them to see all the info:

I want to mention that I've tried the following :
- factory reset
- wipe everything, everything and once again everything
- reflashing different ROMs
- deleting everything on the phone

- i tried the 'secret menu', better said *#9900# whatever, didn't help at all
- i tried everything

I just can't find what is taking up sooooo much memory, I can't figure it out, i'm not a noob when it comes to phones and IT in general. Thanks and yeah, HEEELP!

Erased Internal storage by accident- what now?

Hi, I assume there are some posts about this thing already but I've already read some and I'm still stuck >.<

So- I had TWRP 2.8.6.0 and Exodus ROM, was going to wipe data,dalvik etc in order to flash a different ROM, but by accident i wiped internal storage.

So I went into fastboot mode, connected the device to my PC (already got adb in my pc). did <fastboot oem unlock> ,pushed a ROM and Gapps, and flashed a twrp (using fastboot command to flash recovery.img).

then I used <fastboot reboot recovery>, and the phone stays @ fastboot mode, and i get this-



I tried manually booting into recovery and I get stuck at the 'ak kernel' screen right after booting my devices ( had AK Kernel before all this happend).


could anyone please guide me through this mess I've made? :rolleyes:
