Possible to get iphone Live Photo capabilities?
I was told to post my question here, so here goes..
Any chance on getting a Dev to take a shot at getting the Live Photo function that's out on the new iPhone S6 plus? Looking for the actual video pic capabilities to create live wallpaper and share as a gif ... Possible?

Colour variance in photo app
Hi,
I had this issue a year back and since yesterday I now have it on my Z3 (D6603 23.4.A.0.580).
In essence (and I'm a commercial photographer) I shoot an image, render it on a PC then post to various forums.
One of those forums links to Google Drive / Picasa and the published photos appear on my handset.
If I use the Photo app, the image displays perfectly for 2-3 seconds then the image is simply bleached out and 40% darker with all saturation and definition lost.
If I quit the application, then re-enter, again the image (1000's all told) are perfect for 2-3 seconds, then turn darker.
Am I doing something wrong or did something change?

What happened to the photo editor?
Today I wanted to mess around in photos using the built in photo editor but I noticed that the best one of the 2 editors that were installed on previous firmware versions is gone. I recall there were 2 photo editors, one was crappy and only had awful filtres with funky names, then there was another one that not only worked much better, it also had all sorts of sliders and settings. Well, this second one is gone now on .200 firmware that I received yesterday (maybe it was gone before but I noticed it only now).
Do you guys still have the two photo editors or is it normal that now only the crappy one remains? Any way to get the old photo editor installed on an unrooted device?

Attach photo to text auto send MMS.
I had a friend today ask why when adding a photo to a text it auto sends without giving the option to add text like normal.
I had noticed that on my Edge+ but did not pay much attention. Now with the inquiry I have spent some time investigating.
1. Went to send them a photo using gallery as default selected photo and "Done" displayed in the top right corner.
2. Performed a master reset and attempted the same. Tapped add image and had Photos and Gallery as the option selected Gallery. Now once the photo was selected it displayed "Send" in the top right corner. Updated all apps restarted the phone and performed the test again. This time "Done" was the option.
At this point I assumed it was taken care of so I told them to update their apps. No change on their end.
3. Cleared the default apps and did another test this time it asked if I wanted to use Gallery, Photos, or One Drive. Selected gallery and the option "Done" displayed again.
4. I then uninstalled updates for One Drive and disabled the app. Went to send the message and sure enough "Send" was my only option.
5. Enabled One Drive and installed the updates then cleared the default apps again. One Drive did not show and "Send" was still the option. Restarted the device cleared the defaults One Drive showed again and "Done" displayed.
This is all using the factory messaging app. I wanted to get this out there and possibly get some feedback if you are also having this issue and if this takes care of it on your device.

I'm in love with the Live Photo on the new iPhone 6s I've tried everything to copy the betta fish gif with no luck. Do you think we could ever duplicate this iphone feature? Love love love my S6 Edge + but man it would be nice I must say

Photo & Movie Collections Management and Synchronisation in Cloud Space
Quick read, head straight to bolded "Summary do far" below.
I would rank as first grade amateur when it comes to computer knowledge.
What I have in my favour is that I know what I am looking for. It is reasonable assume others have same scent for optimal solutions, and have already trod the ground before me. Nonetheless once in the pool of knowledge, what seem to be straight forward requests delve into computer knowledge that leave me drowning looking for some thing to hang onto.
Managing photo collections is no exception.
Recommended: Upload all your photos and movies off android devices straight upto dropbox.
Look at settings to ensure that only files less than 25MB are uploaded when only data (non-wifi) connection is available.
Otherwise uploads may be consuming valuable bandwidth for other applications such as games, video streaming or more seriously for GPS on the road.
Dropbox auto file naming is almost identical to gdrive's giving date and time backward, meaning that when sorting files by file name, the files will automatically fall into chronological sequence (date and time order) the difference being that dropbox auto file names just look neater: that is yyyy-mm-dd hh.mm.ss which provides neat spacing via dashes and full stops being easier to decipher the underlying date and time, compared to gdrive's format yyyymmdd hhmmss with only one space between date and time. For example "2015-09-12 00.11.35.mp4" compared to gdrive's "20150912 001135.mp4"
For those who are interested in file renaming, batch file rename by Ron’s place was a lifesaver for myself years ago and ever since. I don’t know what is on the market now, but Aaron deserves a wrap for having put out an excellent program free of charge, perhaps a nominal price since then.
Note that dropbox seems to be significantly faster and more flexible than gdrive, now with upto 1TB storage for about $US13 pcm, including some neat apps and options, the upgrade path looks more attractive than ever, and more than competitive against gdrive's 1TB $US10 pcm.
I increased my dropbox capacity (Unbeknowingly via a Samsung promotion), check it out under dropbox on line settings(under your name in top right)=>account, scroll to “Invite a friend”.
The weakness with dropbox being that when sharing folders, it adds to other users' drive space limit, and vice versa when you receive links from their dropbox. A single movie taken on an Android or iphone device on high res mode can chalk up a few GB quite easily, so sharing movies of significant events can quickly strike upto (even with optimal use of pause button <= highly recommended).
In contrast gdrive has a very handy middle ground 100GB user limit for $US2 pcm, compared to dropbox which jumps straight from 2GB to 1TB.
Gdrive also fails to boast one of their greatest features is that sharing folders or files does not add to the space limit of the recipient. Perhaps it works to their advantage to not have the word spread on that one.
Summary so far the idea is get dropbox to do the naming and uploading photos and movies from the device, then get the files transferred into gdrive for sharing without intruding on recipient's gdrive space restrictions.
An important key here to get the best of both worlds at a frugal budget range is the perfect middle man CloudHQ. There are other alternatives such as Rainbow by XDA Forum Member, but being so pleased with CloudHQ I admit to not having gone back to look at the alternatives.
Get CloudHQ downloaded, free version from
Sign up for free version, test that it works:
Create a communal gmail account between family/close friends.
Recommend select one-way sync from Dropbox to your gdrive or other cloud space with the following options:
• Tick “Archive files before they are changed or deleted by sync”: CloudHQ acts as a complete backup /archive of everything that has been synced through your dropbox or other cloud space. This alone is good enough reason to subscribe. For example how many times have people lost valuable data or collections due to insufficient backup means? Gdrive and Dropbox do well in providing backup plans, but this goes a step deeper, but only in relation to folders and files previously transferred.
• DO NOT TICK “Overwrite all modifications on target”: this will secure downloads from being corrupted by subsequent deletion on dropbox, and allow changes on gdrive such as putting specific collections into specific folders, these would otherwise be diffused by CloudHQ re-downloading missing reallocated files from dropbox
• PRESS: “Continuous synchronization”… will synchronize files between services as soon as they are changed.
Test that sync worked to schedule, then go for upgrade,
If/ when you choose to subscribe you will be able to provide multiple sync setups. So you could get all the immediate family/close friends to provide their dropbox details to sync to their gdrives, basically you could provide a free service for them, get them trained up in using and enjoying the benefits of CloudHQ, which in turns facilitates your ability to enjoy whatever from their collection they choose to share with you to enjoy. CloudHQ win another subscriber if later on your share partner decides to come onboard for their own tailored purposes.
End Result: I take a photo, it appears on my wife’s mobile via sharing the same dropbox almost immediately, then within minutes, photos are uploaded to gdrive folder which is shared with family members who can see what we are upto almost immediately without taking time out to send what’s Apps or vibers etc. If we are connected to a local wifi, (for example free wifi at shopping centres all over the world, McDonalds had it for years), then movies will appear on all locations within minutes.
Three layers of protection:
1. Upon uploaded to dropbox, dropbox retain all files for 30 days.
2. Once transferred to another cloud storage via CloudHQ, they retain an archive of files and folder structures (indefinite? the CloudHQ did not specify a time limit).
3. The “One Way Sync option” combined with NOT selecting “Overwrite all modifications on target” means that inadvertent deleting, loss or deletion of original dropbox files will not be reproduced to delete gdrive files, and vice versa. If one is corrupted the other won’t be, and can serve as a backup.
4. For those who want a further back up on Gdrive, consider Backupify.
Ok hope someone get some thing out of this posting, am not sure I’ll be available to read any feedback, feel free to comment especially to correct or update any shortcomings in the above.

Photo/video management with Google photo
I'm curious if anyone is using Google photos as an option for photo/ video management. I definitely don't want to use Dropbox or box due to you can't upload folders how they are organized according to how you want them. Also Google give unlimited space as long as you agree to 16 mega pixel limit to each picture. I looked at most of mine and I don't have any that exceeds that limit.
1. Does these photos go to your Google plus profile?
2. How easy is it to download the original picture?
