Power saving mode not working like it should?

Hi
I had a s5 before with power saving mode, and I was able to get like 10 day on it, on the edge plus just say like 15h for 50% battery.
Normal?

What does Battery saving EXACTLY do ?

Hey there from France,

I have a quick question for you all S edge+ owners.
Very happy with it, but I'd like to tweak some battery saving features. In that respect, what does the regular (not "Ultra") Battery Saving mode exactly do once tunred on?
There is a brief description of course, but I was wondering if it does such stuff as "limit background data", or resorts to location pinging less often, other than the basic "reduce CPU".

Thanks in advance !

saving battery

i want to share my results with others, as it took me some hours to get there. :(
I've been searching for few days a system to switch to 2G to save battery when the phone is actually idling.
Few methods are available but almost none works with this phone with original ROM.
Of course you need it to be rooted.
The only working method i've found is: gravitybox, a module for xposed, so you need to install this first.
I didn't try it earlier because it is advised to not use it with original samsung ROMs, but now i did, and i already used few of its customizations without any problem.
You will find the feature about network switching inside the phone tweaks section.

Enjoy.

[HOW TO] Use lollipop automatic battery saving mode in stock rom

As we all know, touchwiz comes with its own battery saving modes.
However, there is no possibility to automatically trigger it according to the battery level (without using tasker).

However, it seems the stock lollipop battery saving mode can be activated either in place, or in parallel, to the touchwiz battery saving mode.

It can be activated by two means : either by installing tasker and launching the app "Battery saver" (you have to create a task, select app, launch app, select All (bottom right), then select "battery saver"), or by installing the free xda app batterysaver lollipop shortcut.

The automatic activation based on battery level works, and you can even cumulate it with the touchwiz battery saving mode.
