Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 - Android 5.0.2

Hello,
I recently got the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 running Android 5.0.2 which is a phone based off the ZTE Blade S6 Lux which is known for having a secure boot loader. Anyway, I have been trying to root it for quite a while.
I managed to root it using Kingroot but it only lasts till a phone restart so it is a temporary root. I have tried the PC version and 3 different versions of Kingroot APK with no permanent root. I even tried replacing Kingroot with SuperSU but that's not working at all as it breaks the temp root. I have tried a few other tools to try root such as kingoroot but they didn't work at all. I really need a root because I want to make a Tasker profile that puts airplane mode on when a NFC tag is scanned and lots of other things, but that's irrelevant.
I don't want to flash a custom ROM as I feel very unconformable with that.
If anyone knows how to make the root stay or any other method on rooting please reply to this thread.

Xperia Z Ultra lost access to media files - ringtones, alarm etc.

My smartphone is running a stock Lollipop C6833_14.5.A.0.242_Customzied Germany.ftf ROM flashed using Flashtool, but is rooted with KingRoot and I have a dual recovery flashed and working properly.

Following that downgrade I found that my phone no longer had either a phone or alarm tone. When I try and change the alarm tone or ringtone or even notifications in settings I am presented with the file explorer. The sound selector shows nothing. File Commander is able to see and access the files, and they do not appear to be corrupted and I also tested them in my media player.
They were not in the SD card media folder, but were in tact in the system/media/audio folder in their respective folders. So I copied all the individual folders within the audio folder across to the corresponding media folder on the SD card. But that did not work either...
After searching various sites for help I managed to find instructions to download and flash Xperia Lollipop Media Sounds.zip, which I tried to do with TWRP recovery, but this failed with an error message I could not read.
I wondered whether if I were to just flash the system file from the same ROM it would restore the media file settings? Any help would be very much appreciated, as I have no way of hearing when I receive incoming calls, and my alarm does not work either. The audio seems to function fine in third party apps, so there is no physical issue as far as I know.
I also read a recommendation to copy the files across while connected to a PC, via USB, but my computer is a Mac and it does not seem to be able to access the SD cards as external drives in the same way as they appear in a PC.
Sony technical support basically told me that the only solution is to use repair within the Sony Bridge for Mac app, but I don't want to lose root, as the latest firmware upgrade is impossible to root. I really need help on this please!

Will Z Ultra see Android Pay support?

I recently installed android pay since Ultra has NFC.

I tried adding a compatible card (Amex) and it popped up an error stating the phone is unverifiable or not supported

So is there a hack for this or you think Google will add support for Z ultra?

OTG USB Not Working in Droid Ultra Mini

I bought a new external usb device with dual interface, and it is not working on my Motorola Driod Ultra Mini. I am on Kit Kat 4.4.4 and As I connect my external device, nothing happens. Even in "Storage", The "USB DISK" Option (MOUNT USB On-TheGo storage is diabled (greyed out).

The amount of research I have done on this problem is some says It will not work on my phone as google and my andriod version are not compatible with the OTG Support and some says rooting the phone can do the trick.

Rooting, on the other hand, is troubling me , my device is showing offline in adb cmd. Though I am stil trying.

If any one is head up for any solution , I would be more than thankful.

Sony XPERIA T2 Ultra ROOT and Recovery

Here are just some tutorials for root xperia T2 Ultra, but they sometimes not complete or actual, sometimes they not work more. So here is complete tutorial, which will work still :)

a) before you start to do anything, backup all your user data and media files, because you will lost it and charge your phone
b) download and install latest Flashtool from this article - http://xperiafirmware.com/8-firmware...eria-flashtool
c) download this FTF file ( https://mega.nz/#!xRwB1YYC!VUaWUh5S6...F_g23ehYmIwaec ) and flash it with Flashtool to you smartphone (it is important to Wipe data or your phone will not boot)
d) start your smartphone and enable developer options and usb debugging, also enable mock location
e) in security settings, enable unknown source
f) download this root package - https://mega.nz/#!FclBSQxK!aEop_s-gU...EKYb3z4_hZhaPo unzip it and move it to Flashtool/X10flasher lib folder
g) connect your smartphone to your computer and go to Flashtool folder, X10flasher lib
h) hold shift button and right click with mouse, open command line and type adb devices
i) allow usb debugging on display your phone (steps g-h are not important, but it is better to check it)
j) if result is some kind of number, close command line and run install.bat inside root package from step f)
k) wait after root procedure is done, sometimes it is need to run it more than once (wait until you see SuperSU in your phone). If this donť work for you, download TowelRoot - https://towelroot.com/, install APK and than install SuperSU from Play Store and reboot your phone
l) download recovery for your phone from this site - http://nut.xperia-files.com/ (select XZDualrecovery, than latest version and than T2 Ultra installer)
m) unzip this file, connect your smartphone to computer and run installation, choose first option and than allow SuperSU
n) after some time you will get new icon in your phone, now you have recovery and root (but with old firmware)
o) now you need to flash prerooted zip file thru recovery mode and there are two options (steps p or q)
p) download it from internet, you can try to find it here or Google XPERIA T2 Ultra (firmware you want number) prerooted zip
q) make it by yourself, it is very easy and fast, i will show it to you here - https://youtu.be/oNu7Cp0Toyk
r) after you have this prerooted zip file, push it to your smartphone
s) start recovery mode (from NDRUtils application in your phone) reboot to primary recovery
t) install your prerooted zip file (install ZIP and navigate to your file), than Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache and power off your phone
u) sometimes this can be enough, but i really recommended last steps, it is better for your phone
v) download corresponding firmware (same version as is your prerooted zip file), you can also make FTF yourself with this video - https://youtu.be/X_Y-BOWlQdw
w) flash this FTF file with Flashtool once more, but exlude system and partition
x) after it finished, turn on your smartphone
y) you are on firmware version you chose with root and recovery mode and with locked bootloader
z) when Sony Mobile company release new firmware, you can repeat this tutorial from step o), just change prerooted zip and than FTF

Review of Artech 21 [Vivid Arkansas Series] Ultra Slim Dual Layers Case for Note 5

I purchased this case to see if I liked a slim, low profile case instead of the larger bulkier cases that I normally used for my premium devices. My first thoughts were that this is too thin to be great benefit, but after using and handling it for a while I found that I really liked the fit and feel of it.

The silicone liner fit well and made a uniform appearance while maintaining a snug grip on the phone. The texture of the exterior was comfortable and felt grippy in my hand while still sliding into and out of my pants pocket and cargo pockets easily. The access holes for the headphone and microUSB are stretchy to a degree, so bigger cable grips can be better accommodated. The case is thin enough that wireless charging works readily, tested with 2 off brand charging pads and with the new round Samsung branded pad.

Not tested: I didn't drop my phone to test its impact protection, but I wouldn't do that even with the most expensive of cases... No need to tempt fate.

All in all this is a great little case for much less than what the typical cases go for.

Email Push not working on Xperia C5 Ultra

Hi, i have set up an email account and ive set it to manual during off peak time. In peak time settings, ive set it to push but im its not pushing any emails and i still have to check manually for emails during peak time. Auto Sync is enabled in Settings/Accounts. Anyone knows whats the issue and how it can be fixed?

Xperia Z Ultra- Games Crash After 5.1.1 Update

Hey,
I am facing some problems on my z ultra(not rooted), after the 5.1.1 update.
The games crash after 2-3 minutes of gameplay although the games which i installed before the update on my phone are working well. And when i rewind or skip a part of any video, it crashes saying "video isn't responding" or mx player not responding etc. Etc.
Another problem, sometimes i am on a call with someone and the call screen is not visible, not even in the notification bar and i have to ask the other person to disconnect the call or else i need to restart my phone.
Please help me with this, it will be a great help.
And i have noticed some advantages too about the update like the battery enhancement, smooth running, better animations, less heat generation etc.
And is greenify useful for my phone?

How to Change Xperia C5 Ultra Screen Density without root

Hi, I am new in XDA, but just want to share some trick on the new Xperia C5 Ultra on change of screen density to look more beautiful without root.
This is useful for those who like to have phablet screen look like table density.
I have done tested on my Xperia C5 Ultra and it work with any flaw.
Please be reminder I am just putting a guide here, I will not responsible for anything happen to your phone, damaged, brick or exploded.
Any how this is done without root and you can restore to original screen density if you don't like it.:D:D:D

Please follow below guide :

Before you start, please ensure you have a working adb tool install on your PC and you have driver install on your PC.

This can only be done thru the PC

Original the Xperia C5 Ultra density is 480. This guide will help to change to density 320
screen resolution remain on 1920x1080

Step by Step
1) pls enable the developer mode on your Xperia C5 Ultra
2) check the USB debugging on the developer option
3) plug in the USB and connect your phone to the PC
4) press on the PC " window" key + "X" key and select command prompt (admin)
5) in the command prompt , put in text adb after C:\windows\system32>
6) your phone share pop up message to authorize the usb debugging, select YES.
7) If step 5 & 6 don't come up any long message on the window command prompt, this mean you did not install properly the adb tool in your pc. (refer above to redo)

8) at this step , mean adb is done properly and go back to command prompt in the window
9) enter text "adb shell wm density 320" after the C:\windows\system32>. it look like this C:\windows\system32>adb shell wm density 320 and press enter key on PC
10) Now your phone have change to screen density 320. everything will look smaller now.
11) you need to re-start the Xperia C5 ultra phone and all screen size will completely change to new density 320.
12) you are done. now you can re-arrange your phone icon and have a fresh look !!


How to go back to original screen density
1) repeat the step 1 , 2, 3, 4 & 5.
2) key in C:\windows\system32>adb shell wm density 480 and press enter on pc
3) restart your phone then you will go back to original screen resolution


What works and what not work

- all phone function work as normal including screen capture and screen video
- so far I did not encounter any problem, tell me if you know any
- all one hand operation mode is working except the phone key dialer pad as below

- the phone key dialer will not work in one hand mode. It will show error if you have set "one hand mode" on the telephone key dialer

but now its time to say bye bye to t2 ultra as well as sony as i have bought Mi 4 in just 13999 under amazon scheme :D

C5 Ultra lags and slows down when battery is low like below 20%

Hi, got the C5 ultra a couple of days back. I feel that my phone slows down and lags when the battery is low? Its almost unusable due to the lag in the app drawer and recents panel. Im not sure if this happens everytime the phone is low on battery. Is this is problem for u as well and is there any fix?

Sony Xperia Z ultra STUCK ON SET UP

I got the phone today. Set it up for my girlfriend who is going to use the device. Everything is working as it should except that every time she hits the power button or the phone sleeps automatically , a Sony Xperia logo appears and RESETS THE HOME SCREEN AND THE SETTINGS. I have no idea why its doing this and since its the first time in a long time that I had any kind of issue with a phones software, I don't know what to do.

I will be comfortable doing any kind of custom rom update if it's necessary and if there is a complete guide on how to do it. But I rather keep it stock for her.
