Fingerprint scanner gestures

On Huawei's other phones with fingerprint scanners they feature gestures on the scanner, a lot like a touchpad on a laptop. You can swipe down for the notification tray and swipe it up, double tap to clear the tray, swipe up for the recent apps, and long press to go to the home screen.

Since none of this was mentioned to be included in M and I know that's custom Huawei software. I was still wondering if any devs out there might be wanting to work on an app to add these functions, or if something similar already exists. This really makes the scanner a lot more functional.

They also have a safe and app lock in their software 2 other great additions. I know I've seen an app lock for the Samsung phones, and not sure if it'll work on just any phone with a scanner. While these are great additions on the Huawei phones, their skin is not. I'd love to see stuff like this incorporated on stock version of Android. I know nothing about programming, but just hope some eager devs are out there and looking to enhance what the scanner can do and take better advantage of it.

Fingerprint scanner not showing.Backup password doesnt work

Hello guys.

My note 4 was working flawlessly until 2 hours ago. I locked it and after 15 minutes of inactivity i pressed the unlock button and the finegerprint scanner wasnt there. I tried rebooting many times and nothing happened.I used the backup password and it doesnt work. Tried up to 30 times and nothing. Cant even reset it via google acc manager.I dont to hard reset because i got many information on viber and whats app and i cant lose them.

Any idea guys?

Fingerprint Scanner Dilemma

So, the Android M launched and it sports fingerprint recognition, thats awesome.
Our phone do have the hardware, but what about accessibility?

I mean when samsung pushes the M update to S6, will the scanner use Google APIs or Samsung APIs for the recognition?
If it uses Samsung APIs then I think we may not be able to use the services provided by google for the fingerprint scanner.
Also, a lot of Devs will be creating apps based on fingerprint recognition using Google's API, will our phone scanner be able to make use of it?

What do you think guys...

Fingerprint data storage

I've been googling around and haven't found an answer on how the fingerprint data is stored on the phones and is it safe regardless of device encryption?

The S5 implementation of the data was horrible and Samsung is not to concerned it seems. At least Apple clearly outlines how and where the data is stored.

Any one know? I really want to start using the fingerprint on my s6

Fingerprint Scanner Does Not Work [Clean&Dry Msg]

Ever since i got my T Mobile Galaxy S6 Delivered a couple of days ago, the finger print scanner does not work.
It keep displaying the message :

"Make sure that the home key is clean and dry, then try again"

I bought the phone on Swappa, and the seller claims it never got wet.

I've tried searching for similar issues but have no found anything like it... any thoughts?

Bluetooth override Fingerprint security?

I recently installed Android Pay which required that I enable security, understandable. I decided to go with the fingerprint security. The only problem I have now is when I'm in the car I have to swipe my fingerprint to get SVoice to trigger. I need actual hands free. Is there a way to allow programs like SVoice to override the security lock screen?

Hi. I have this problem with my note 5 I have the fingerprint unlock but most of the time i have to put my backup password because i get this message:
An error has occurred with the fingerprint sensor. if this message appears repeatedly, restart your device
cleaning my cash in recovery mode solves the problem for 1 hour or 2.
Anyone have the same problem? thanks.

Samsing S6 | FingerPrint not recognized and Phone is locked. Panic Situation!

Finger print not recognized, Phone is locked, no internet connection, google account device manager reset not working and samsung account not set up.

Fingerprint unlock question

Is there a way to enable the Note 5 to simply unlock by holding your fingerprint on the scanner? I don't feel like it's very convenient to have to push the home or power button, then swiped up to unlock then place you r finger on the scanner. Seems a little inconvenient, no? Doesn't the OP2 simply unlock when you place your finger on the scanner? Is there a setting I'm missing? I'm on Verizon so root/any sort of xposed module hack is out of the question.

Fingerprint on custom rom's

Hi folks,
Couldn't find information for fingerprint, is there any possibility of working fingerprint on CM 12.1? After became official or so?

Galaxy Note 4 fingerprint sensor not working after Lollipop 5.1.1 update

My Galaxy Note 4 nobrand, ITV, received OTA update 5.1.1
I made the update and everything is good but I'm unable to register fingerprints to use the sensor.
It requests 10 registrations to save the fingerprint but after 2 or 3, it hangs... It doesn't recognize any more fingerprint and I'm unable to register and use the sensor.

I also made a full wipe and the problem persists.

Fingerprint sensor worked fine with previous android versions (kitkat and Lollipop 5.0.1).

Anyone got this issue? How to resolve?
