First and foremost, I'd just like to point out that this list is outdated and I haven't updated it in a long time - however, I intend to do a major overhaul soon. This topic is basically a (split) migration of the one on the official Raspberry Pi forums (the post is mine, just to clarify any possible ownership issues). I decided to branch it our to here as to reach a wider audience - as I think it'll appeal to people who, for example, want to make an arcade games console, or even just play games in general on their Pi. The stuff below is a jumble really, some sections have been removed if I though that they weren't totally necessary and"outside links" have been removed (not just because I am a new user, but because most were broken when brought across. yes, I know having no links is annoying, they will be (hopefully) sorted out soon enough, as this post is still a work in progress. I haven't really had too much time to perfect it before posting, but I hope it isn't too bad). Anyway, on with the post!
PREFIXES:
If the game has a *apt-get* after it, that means that it can be installed using "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install GAMENAME", replacing GAMENAME with the name of the game. The name can be found with an 'apt-cache search GAMENAME' search, using keywords. For example, for 'Flight of the Amazon Queen', you could try 'apt-cache search flight of the amazon queen', although some games may require something a bit more less wordy :). Or use a search engine like DuckDuckGo (I'm not advertising, it's just my preference :D. Plus, it looks pretty awesome with the terminal theme)
If the game has *pistore*after it, it can be downloaded/played through the PiStore.
If the game has *other* after it, a suitable link will be provided in brackets)
If the game has *PAY* after it, it means that you have to pay to buy it. If available, a price will follow in brackets.
