Messaging not working after updated to 5.1.1 build number 23.4.A.1.200

Hi all, first time posting here.

Recently i updated my Z3C from kitkat 4.4.4 to 5.1.1 build number 23.4.A.1.200

After a week updated to 5.1.1, i noticed that i couldn't receive any text message / SMS nor send out text message/ SMS.

It always show error message 'couldn't send' whenever i tapped on the send button.

Hence, i disabled the messaging apps can install google messenger app as alternative. Still, the result are same. I am still unable to use the sms function.

I tried with google hangout apps next. I am able to send sms and receive the sms notification. However, when i opened up the hangout apps, i can't see any new sms arrival.

Lastly, as alternative, my fren introduce me to the apps called textra. Fortunately, it worked like a charmed and i am now able to send, receive and view them.

I would like to ask, what is the root cause of the failure of the stock messaging apps and is there anyway to fix it?

Advanced messaging working?

Title says it all. I have tried to use it with my brothers note 5 but it doesn't seem to work. WiFi calling and voLTE enabled on both phones.

Need a device for silent and discreet messaging in dimly lit rooms?......

Ok, so I know this sounds weird but I've been searching for months now and then it suddenly hit me that I should ask on XDA!!!

I'm working with spa/wellness center and basically, they need a way to get messages to the therapists while they're in treatment with clients., things like "you're next client is running late so take your time" or "you've overrun, please finish the treatment asap, your next client is here" etc. It could be an abbreviation based system if the text length is an issue?

It's usually dimly lit rooms and it needs to be something discrete (silent) but still visible without being obtrusive - we don't want the client to think a therapist is texting while doing a massage etc. Sort of along the lines of a Doctor's paging system. It could also be just one way (therapists don't really need to respond, purely a notification system).

Can any my fellow XDA'ers think if any elegant way to do this? It could be via wifi, even bluetooth. I was wondering about the various smartwatches/fit bit style devices but know very little about them.

[Q] Messaging app crashes after trying to read SMS!

Hey everyone!
I just installed eRobot ROM v8.6 (thanks to dev) to my N910C Note4, I just customize it with deleting unnecessary apps in /system/app & /system/priv-app using a script. The ROM works perfect, and I can open any messaging app such as the stock or Textra, but the problem is all of them (whether stock or 3rd Party messaging app) crashes when I try to open any SMS, so I think there is a system app I deleted by mistake that read SMS, but I don't know its name to install it again! so can anyone tell me the dependencies of the messaging app? so I know which system app I deleted it by mistake :)

Blank messaging app

XT1095 with 5.1. When recieving incoming text messages often you click on the message notification and the screen goes all white where the conversation would normally be. You hit the back button and go to the list of text threads then go back into your thread and everything works as normal. Anyone else have this issue?

Stock messaging app gone missing in my rooted Nokia X2 - HELP!

I have a rooted Nokia X2, and somehow the stock Messaging app (MMS.apk) has gone missing from my phone. I am unable to send/receive text messages on my mobile at all :crying:

Can someone help me here by providing the stock messaging app apk installer?

Any other way to fix this will also be appreciated :)
