Considering trying xposed...

Ive come across a couple of root apps that want exposed, to either do more things or to work entirely.

Ive been wanting to try the swypetweaks app, to make the symbols appear on the newer themes, but it needs xposed.

Would installing xposed remove anything or stop anything i currently have from functioning? or does it simple allow more things to function? Id plan on making a backup before i started trying anything anyway, but i was just wondering if its supposed to wipe anything or not??

if something did get messed up and i had to recover from my backup from before i installed it, would it be uninstalled/totally removed once i restored??

basicallyi want to try it out but im afraid to mess anything up lol

Error While Trying o Flash ROMs

While Trying To Flash The Lollipop Expirience Rom And The UltraSlim Rom For A110, It Shows Two Kinds Of Errors.
1) E: (ROM PATH): (bad) :Installation Aborted
2) E: (ROM PATH) : (Status 0) :Installation Aborted

I Dont have any backup and hence cant even start up my phone. Please Suggest any other methods Or Fix To The Error. :confused: :confused:

Trying to make the best of a bad situation (root)

I have been hanging around on my Sprint Note 3, for quite a while looking for my next phone. I was thinking about waiting for the new Nexus 6, especially since I have a Google Fi invite. My girlfriend decided to surprise me by trading in my note 3, and adding me her at&t mobile value share. I am happy to be off Sprint, but my girlfriend didn't realize the downsides to the phone she got me. Battery, SD card is a little annoying, but of course no root. Yikes.

I'm going to attempt to keep the phone because it is a gift. But, for those on the note 5 bandwagon,have you found passable solutions to any of the things we always use.
Whether it's proper adblocking, disabling all the bloatware, or even being to completely remove what I don't want on my phone.

Has anyone found anything that can even help recreate the functions of root we all miss.

I like the phone a lot, but rooted would make me love it. Or gladly throw in a few hundred to a thousand dollar's to members researching over the new Knox subsystem.

FAILED (data transfer failure (Unknown error)) when trying to flash anything to phone

I have S-ON and a non-HK phone with an OS of 2.16.651 I believe. @Sloth tried to help me but to no success, so I'll try to see if anybody else can help me figure out the issue.
Basically, everything works up until I actually start to flash the phone. It gives me this error:
FAILED (data transfer failure (Unknown error))
There's a bit more to it, but that's mostly unrelated stuff (the command and blahblahblah).

I've tried 2 different computers and different ports on all of them. I don't have any other USB cables for my phone available, but this one works with my PS4 controllers finely so I'm guessing it should work fine.

If someone could help me and anyone else with my luck in the future, please answer. I don't want to have to resort to a store as I have no money and the store is quite far. Thanks!

EDIT: Something else to mention, there is no firmware on this device and only has an accessible bootloader and recovery. I currently have the bootlocker relocked. I had ViperOneM8, although uninstalled after realizing I had no access to WiFi (I ignored the disclaimer :c). I don't have a SIM card as this phone was given and I didn't buy it myself from any carrier, I have no service.

Errors While Trying To Install CyanogenMod

I am currently trying to install cyanogenmod on my HAM2. I have an unlocked bootloader, latest version of TWRP installed, and cynogenmod in the root of my sd card. I have cleared my cache, delvik cache, and system as well. However I keep getting an error telling me "unable to mount storage during GUI start up" and the other saying that there was an "error executing updater binary in zip external sdcard cyanogemod." Can someone please assist me as to how to resolve this issue ?:(:confused:

I'm having an issue with my Chinese smartphone POMP W88A. It was a brand that was making smartphones, but it seems they have stopped producing phones. The phone is running on JB 4.2.2. It is running on MTK6589 processor. Kernel version is 3.4.5. Screen resolution is qHD (960x540). This phone seems like a Galaxy S4 clone. It has touchwiz installed, or I assume that it is touchwiz, even though it wont support the Accuweather S4 widget and other Samsung apps. What I was trying to do - I was going to install the Touchwiz launcher and the Accuweather widget from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2259228
It seems that it supports a large number of devices. However, when I rebooted into recovery and tryed to install the zips, I got an error message: Installation aborted. I googled a bit and found that some recoveries demand the zip files to be signed. I signed the zip files, rebooted again into recovery, and this time, the installation started, the progress bar started filling and suddenly it aborts the installation with this error message: "Invalid OTA package missing scatter". I tryed to google how to fix that problem, but I am unable to find a solution. There are some topics on this matter regarding the flashing of ROMs, but I just wanted to flash the launcher and the widget. I also found a topic saying that it might be because the Recovery demands Busybox to be installed, so I also installed Busybox, but the problem is still there. I also tried installing other recoveries via Mobileuncle Tools, but none of them worked, so I swithched back to the factory one, which is called Android system recovery 3e. Anyone have any clue how I can fix this? If there is a way to install zips without rebooting into recovery, I could try that, but I dont know if that is possible.

Galaxy Note 3 OC1- Wont Boot After Trying To Flash OC2

I was on OC1 from Walter.White, and then I tried rebooting into Safestrap to flash the stagefright fix and OC2 but I didn't even make it to there.
I'm stuck on a black screen right after the Samsung Galaxy screen goes away.

Firmware issues while I was trying to downgrade from LP to KK SM-N915a

I was trying to downgrade through Odin 3.10 from lollipop to Kit Kat and when System4 was being pushed Odin failed and I received a message that said sys rev check fails : refer 2 > Binary 1 and emergency firmware recovery now shows when I restart my phone. I have tried to use Kies 3 to recover my firmware but it fails with
sw rev check fail: [aboot]Fused 2 > Binary 1
[1]eMMC write fail: ABOOT
what can I do to fix this?

Trying to make an alarmdump.txt

Yo, so as I've been on a flashing rom and kernel adventure, learned I can use amplify with xposed,

Now one of the wakelocks that I haven't changed is *alarm*, and as that wakelock is basically just how many times apps have in total required to use the alarm thingy, I wanted to find out what apps made it so.

So to find that out I need to make an AlarmDump.txt according to what I've found from my searching, to make that I need to make the command from ADB

Now I've attempted two methods, first was to use apps that let me change it into Read/Write. I attempted FX with the root addon, tried Total Commander and tried ES file manager. But in every single one of those apps, where I only had installed individually and not all together, it kept saying the system was read only when I tried to make the

Trying to flash a dd image I took from the system partition

Long-time UNIX guy here, but relatively new to the world of Android.

I have recently purchased an Asus MemoPAD (ME103K) ; I then became root, and took a `dd` image of the read-only `system` partition to the external SD card:

The size (exactly 2GiB) was a bit suspicious - could it be that this was because of the FAT32 partition on the SD card?

No, it was not - `tune2fs -l` revealed that this was indeed, a valid EXT4 image, exactly sized at 2GiB, which passed `fsck -f` with no errors at all.
And `fastboot` (from the linux machine attached to the tablet) concurred, after an `adb reboot bootloader`:

I try to flash the system.img back to the tablet - to make sure I can recover from anything, the sort of bullet-proof backup we do in the Unix world (*e.g. restore contents of a drive via `dd if=backup.image of=/dev/sdXXX`*).

Everything related to `adb` and `fastboot` work flawlessly - so I try...

Interesting - even though I am in a 64bit machine, apparently there are issues that turn the file size "negative" (in a 32bit world, the file size of my image, 2^31, is indeed considered negative - to be exact, `-2147483648`.

I waited for 1h before hitting that Ctrl-C. And had to power-cycle the tablet, which booted back in fastboot mode.

I don't mind a temporarily bricked device, as long as I **do** get to control it in the end (machines that I am not a master of, are machines I don't care to operate ;)

P.S. I checked the Asus support page for my tablet - they only provide the sources for the kernel, and the Over-the-air .zip file. That in turn contains a file-system level backup from the root - i.e. the `system` folder exists in there as just a folder, not an image, not a `system.img` that I can flash - so that doesn't really help me.

Skydragon keeps trying to update with stock download (I assume). I just installed Skydragon M7 v19 a couple of weeks ago and am really enjoying it. :) However, for the past week, my M7 (Android version 5.0.2, HTC Sense version 6.0) keeps downloading and trying to update System Update Software Update 7.17.1540.21.
Have I done something wrong? I would like to stop the download (336mb) and have "Software Updates" off in settings. Please advise. Thanks.

Lost root trying to get Android Pay

I tried turning off\disabling root to get Android Pay to work and now I can't get root back.

Whenever I open SuperSU it just says the binaries are missing. I've tried flashing the SuperSU zip in the recovery, but it still just says the binaries are missing.

I've also tried uninstalling SuperSU from the Play Store, and it just removes the latest update, doesn't actually uninstall it.


Ideas?

[Q] Messaging app crashes after trying to read SMS!

Hey everyone!
I just installed eRobot ROM v8.6 (thanks to dev) to my N910C Note4, I just customize it with deleting unnecessary apps in /system/app & /system/priv-app using a script. The ROM works perfect, and I can open any messaging app such as the stock or Textra, but the problem is all of them (whether stock or 3rd Party messaging app) crashes when I try to open any SMS, so I think there is a system app I deleted by mistake that read SMS, but I don't know its name to install it again! so can anyone tell me the dependencies of the messaging app? so I know which system app I deleted it by mistake :)

Trying to troubleshoot wifi hotspot on unlocked sprint note5/att network......

Can anyone help a note 5 owner here and post the following files...

I'm trying to troubleshoot a no wifi hotspot situation and need these files but the Att note 5 doesn't have root to access these files. I knew the Att note 3 has root because I had one at one time. I was told that these files are not device specific but carrier specific.

Bricked phone after trying to unroot, ODIN won't flash stock firmware

Hey guys,

this is my current situation: Phone is stuck in cyan screen with "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software". I can't use Smart Switch because I was rooted and on "XtreStoLite Deo-Mod Edition 2.3" when the phone bricked. ODIN does recognize the phone. I used Odin3 v3.10.6.

What I did to brick it:
- Downloaded a firmware and tried to flash it to unroot the phone, following that guide

Sooo.. according to the guide I mentionied I would need to flash pit and Stock firmware at once like this:

Trying to find CM11 Unoffical Nightlies!

Hey guys,

Just got given a Mega 6.3 and I actually quite like it! Very surprised to discover that there is NO CM for it.

I have read through the Silesh.Nair thread and have managed to download a few of the nightlies:-

"cm-11-20140721-UNOFFICIAL-meliusltexx.zip" & "cm-11-20140804-UNOFFICIAL-meliusltexx.zip"

but it seems there was a much later one:-

"cm-11-20141113-UNOFFICIAL-meliusltexx.zip"

Which I can't seem to find available anywhere (except on one japanese/chinese site which I have no clue to actually get at it)

I have flashed the stock 4.4.2 ROM and rooted and it's OK but it's not CM and I also want to mess with the DPI settings a bit which just cause loads of crashes in the stock ROM, hopefully CM would be better.

So, anyone know where I can get the last (most stable) unoffical CM nightly?
