Nexus 6P with Project Fi !

Hey Guys/Gals :)
How many of are you thinking switch to Project Fi, once you have the Nexus 6p. For me I ordered nexus 6p from play store then order Fi from Fi lol but most likely they will come same time. I am on TMO unlimited, but most of the time I am on wifi so I will be saving good amount of money I guess. lets share your thoughts on Fi :D

Question about Losing Google Voice Number When Switching to Project Fi

I ordered a Nexus 6 directly from Google and have been using it on AT&T while I waited for Project Fi approval. I originally requested my invite to Project Fi on August 8 and was approved last night - September 29. I need a few things cleared up related to my Google Voice number as apparently I will 'lose this' if / when I switch to Project Fi.

Here is my current setup / questions. I use Google Voice in this capacity:

- On my cell phone, I make and receive all of my calls within the USA by using my cell number which was provided by AT&T. The 'only' thing I use Google Voice on my phone is for the free long distance calling to Canada. This means when I dial a long distance number to Canada using my cell phone number, it looks like the call is automatically routed through Google's phone exchanges because I have Google Voice configured on my phone (I believe the caller ID on the far end shows my cell phone number - not my Google Voice number).

- I also use my Google Voice for phone service in my home. To explain, I have purchased a OBi110 (from Obihai) and have provisioned this using my Google Voice number - this way I have 'home service'. I basically only use this service to dial into work conference calls, provide this number to my utility companies, my family can use this to make and receive calls when they visit, etc. I also have my Google Voice number set up to simultaneously ring my cell number.

So if I switch to Project Fi, does this mean I can still keep my Google Voice number in my home on OBi110? If I lose the ability to use the Google Voice features on my cell phone (free long distance), but can keep my Google Voice number in my home, that will not be a problem and I will make the switch.

Quick Project Fi Inquiry

Hey Guys, just a quick one for you.

My Contract for Verizon is up In November, I just received my Project Fi Invite today, which I am looking to try, however do not want to be subject to an ETF from Verizon since Im so close to being out of agreement.

Can I go through the Fi Application process via the Website, order my SIM and get everything together while i Wait, or will ordering a SIM cause my number to Port to Project FI, thereby incurring an ETF from VZW??

Specifically, does signing up via the Fi Invite automatically port your TN over, or can I get a Sim, Hold onto it for awhile, and then when im up with VZ, Activate it via the Android Project Fi Application to port?

Hello everybody ! I have an idea for a new app that could change the way we use the phones. Not my idea at all but apple's . You have probably spen the new 3d touch . How about making this to any phone? My idea is : it will understand the " hard press" this way: when you press harder , the finger touches the screen in a bigger place. So the app should understand that you press harder and give access to the new menu . How about that? Is it possible as a root requiring apk? ;)

Project Fi?

Hi,

When I heard about Project Fi, I requested an invite without fully understanding what it was (because I just like requesting invites to cool tech stuff). I got my invite today, and I have a few questions about it before I sign up:

1) What exactly is Project Fi? Is it worth it (I currently have T-Mobile, FWIW)?

2) Has anyone tried Project Fi on the Moto X Pure? I'm aware of the articles that claim that the MXP works on Project Fi "unofficially", but I'm wondering if anyone on XDA has given it a try. If so, what are the limitations?

3) Is official Project Fi compatibility cool enough to ditch the MXP in favor of the Nexus 5X or 6P?

Coincidence: I preorder my 6P today, and I'm invited to project fi..

A Big thanks for the CM11 Bigpart Project

Hello. originally i wanted to post this in the CM11 thread, but due to the fact that i am a new user, i cannot.

the phone is now working great, far better than the CM10 version. it's like a new device.

Looking for Developers for project

I'm looking for developers willing and able to help with a project.

I'll start by saying, this is a Atheist oriented project focused on atheist related issues. You don't need to be atheist to help, but at least opened minded to others beliefs, or lack there of.

I'm heading this project for the time being. Its my idea, but its beyond my depth. I don't have the skill set to pull this off on my own. I'll take a step back and allow someone who's capable of heading this, once I find one. I can help in other areas, mostly design.

I have two other developers on board already. Capable of developing Android and WP apps. I have done some Android developing on my own, but I'm a amateur at coding.

Will be building a website, paired with some mobile apps. Focused on help and information forums, local community forums, Atheist related news articles, Articles on atheism, etc without getting into it to deeply on what we're trying to do. Its open for discussion.
