Unable to mount - problems with TWRP during back up

I have a G900F with the stock rom on it which is running poorly and want to install the Cymogened 12.1 rom.

I have successfully managed to root my phone and install TWRP 2.8.7.0

I cannot make a back up of my existing rom!!!!

when i go into back up on TWRP the first thing i get in RED is

E:Unable to mount 'data'

it then proceeds to try and make a back and then fails

I have tried the following things with no luck
- formatting the sd card in the phone and on the laptop through 3 different formats
- trried to make a back up locally but cant as not enough space
- used the sd card formatter to format the sd card
- a 2gb, 16gb and 32gb sd card with no joy
- run root checker to ensure its fully rooted and it is
- run the micro sd card fix that was disabled in kit kat
- tried to use CWM recovery to make the back up and that did the same thing

does any of the below info help

- i have managed to factory reset my phone before without any problems
-i used my phone for work and use gmail and therefore the phone is encrypted , will this have a bearing on me not being able to make a back up to teh sd card or locally

please help as this is driving me insane :)

I have install cyanogen rom in my xperia l using cwm recovery. Now when i reboot my phone in recovery mod it stuck on purple led. Can i reinstall the custom recovery or suggest me what can i do. I want to update my rom

Sony xperia neo v unable to flash. Showing error.

Hi guys ...I'm writing this after reading many forums...but couldn't find answer to my problem... I recently purchased a used Sony xperia neo v from my friend...wen I bought it I checked all the functions....everything worked..I had kept it switched off for a month....but now it's not reading memory card...it keeps saying blank SD card or damaged sd card..... Tried with many cards non worked . ...so I thought flashing with custom rom would repair it .....after seeing many videos on how to do it and reading forums I tried it ....but while flashing it keeps showing some error....please help..

Help ! N920I with ATT IMEI unable to update!

I bought N920I on ebay, and it is factory unlocked version. When I use the New iphone with att, it is working well, but it seems the signal is not well enough and the GPS (goole map) is not as accurate as Iphone 6 one. So I went to ATT retail store, they told me I should update my IMEI in their system so might solve the signal problem. So I just gave them my NOTE 5 IMEI, but they tried couple times and was unable to update it for me. So I went back home and called ATT customer service , they finally override the system and helped me successfully updated IMEI . I am wondering does it really matter to update IMEI when I switch from IPhone 6 to NOTE 5?

Unable to boot non-stock roms

I'm running d85120e stock rom and is rooted with twrp. The issue I have is when i flash a rom (dirty unicorn), it'll flash without issue, but when i reboot it goes straight to fast boot. I've wiped everything before flashing and tried redownloading the rom and tried a different usb cable in case the rom was corrupt during download or moving it to the sd card. Nothing has worked so far. I had this same issue on another g3 with the d85120e stock rom. Any ideas?

Variant software detected - unable to OTA update

I don't know anything about this sort of thing. Got a "new" unlocked unbranded HTC One M8 off eBay in the UK. Unable to update it OTA due to 'variant software detected contact HTC etc etc'.
After my total newbie investigation this seems to be because the CID has been changed to a supercid of 11111111. I believe this is due to it being a T-Mobile US phone originally and this is the way that the seller's supplier unlocked and unbranded it in order for it to be used in the UK. I came to this conclusion due to the model ID which appears to be 0P6B13000 which I believe is a T-Mobile US ID. The phone also appears to be S-Off which supports my very ignorant theory. I'm not someone who mucks about with rooting and anything else like that on my phones and don't really know anything about how to fix this. I wonder if changing the CID number to a UK version would help but I don't know what the original one is (ebay seller is no help) and am unsure if simply changing this would make a difference or just cause an inappropriate update to install wrong and brick the phone.

I would like to be able to use OTA updates. But do not want it to be full of branded network bloatware. I am not wanting to make it rooted and shove custom ROMS on it that don't look like it would if it was a totally stock version. Can anyone give me some advice on this issue?

No OS and Unable to Install GPE or RUU

OK. So I have no idea how I did it but I have succeeded in bricking my M8. Here are the basics:

- Rooted, was running Cyanogen 12
- TWRP is installed and I can get access to it.
- S-On....seems that I cannot get to S-Off at this point
- Have read thru multiple threads, downloaded an RUU that purports to be GPE, but I have not been able to get it to run.
- Am in the process of downloading a stock Lollipop 5.1 OS.

At this point I am at a loss on how to get an OS installed and running. Suggestions would be appreciated.

I keep getting this error I think I might have wiped something I shouldn't have. I can still access SS(SafeStrap) but every install attempt ends with that error...please if anyone has advice on this or knows its bricked let me know so I can either switch to an old phone or go upgrade. I was having an issue with usb connection months ago while on the hyper drive rom so I decided to update to 21 from 20. When I updated the WiFi didn't work so I thought I'd go back to stock recovery, guessing the recovery file I had didn't work and now all I get is this mounting error. also system is not checked under mount through SS:eek::eek::eek::crying:

Hey guys,

lately i am having some trouble with my Phone.
Story:
I was surfing the world wide web and than turned the phone in standby (with 30% battery). Next morning i tried starting it but it didnt react. So i plugged it in and tried to start it. Everything seemed normal but then animation of the motorola logo lasted like 15 min until i got a blackscreen (phone is still on). I got curious and turned it off by holding the power button for serveral seconds. I tried again turning it on but every time the same thing happened. So i tried to reset my device with the factory reset. But nothing changed. After that i went into recoverymode (Teamwin) and tried to install a ROM and there i got always the same error:

Unable to stat '/data/dalvik-cache....
Unable to stat '/data/....
...
and the last one is always
Unable to mount '/data'

So i googled it and found some solutions:

• Factory reset


• Wiping data


• Format Data

I tried all of this solutions but it didnt seem that something has changed.
The problem is i have no idea how smartphones work and so i dont know what the "experts" are talking about, if i find a forum about this topic.

Does someone know how to fix this and can guide me to a working phone? I dont want to buy a new overprized phone.

OnePlus Two unable to Root, Fullscreen Popup-ads and more!

Hey all! I've got my OnePlus 2 for a while now, and its one of the 'chinese' models i think..

Now! I'm having some serious issues with this phone, The phone itsself is AMAZING, more than i could ask for, But for some reason, the device came pre-loaded with some BS apps, some chinese apps, etc, etc..

The issues i'm having is that SOMETHING that they pre-loaded into the systems apps is causing me FULL-SCREEN pop up ads, and my ADB REFUSES to work!! Fastboot has been working without problem, and i followed the steps HERE to no avail, my device is detected in all states through "fastboot devices" command, but any attempt at meddling with my phone using ADB seems to fail.. Also my OTA Updates always fail, It will NOT let me update my phone by any of the normal means.. Which is also incredibly strange!

When i try to use "adb devices" command, my device refuses to show up (Yes, USB Debugging is enabled, yes, i've tried google) although for some reason when i use ADB to flash the recovery, it seems to go through the motions, tell me that the custom recovery (Newest twrp for OP2) has been succsessfully installed, When i attempt to reboot into recovery, i get the default OP2 recovery screen!!

It has been driving me completely mental, And i really need your help XDA, some of the names of the system apps that were pre-installed are sending information in bulk to servers in china, and i cant stop it.. I need to make this phone compeltely fresh!

Unable to mount SM-T330NU running moonbutt74's CyanogenMod 11 Port as MTP, or UMS

I recently flashed moonbutt74's CyanogenMod 11 port onto my SM-T330NU Tablet using a CWM port. However, when attempting to mount my tablet through USB as MTP (with USB Debugging Enabled) it doesn't show up at all. When I attempt to mount it as a UMS device, it triggers a F: drive CD mount point.

I would post directly to the Development forum but due to certain rules, as a new user, I cannot. Any assistance would be appreciated.

unable to update moto g xt1033 asia from 5.0.2 to5.1

On doing system update 5.1, after reboot , system auto rebooted in middle, get a message that says "Software update unsuccessful. Sorry, there was a problem updating your Moto G. No changes were made."

I am suspecting once i try to downgrade from 5.0.1 to kitkat, but unsuccessful so i did fastboot method to install 5.0.2.
Current version running on my motog 1st is 5.0.2:

Unable to install latest update....recovery doesn't look right.

I have factory reset my phone and downloaded the update, but it fails when installing. I see a large "!". What's odd is when doing the factory reset, it pout me in the menu driven recovery. The one where I have to use the volume buttons to move up and down the menu to preform the factory reset.

Is this the problem?
Any way to load the factory recovery back?

Unable to flash TWRP

Yo

currently running newest official (12.1-YOG4PAS1N0).

I unlocked the bootloader-


then I put the recovery.img file at the adb path.
then I enter fastboot and typed <fastboot flash recovery recovery.img> and it flashed it.
I disconnected the USB, turned the device off and then immediately booted into recovery (Volume down + Power)... BUT- it takes me to CM stock recovery every time :(

was wondering if anyone knows what can be done.

CM Recovery update is disabledfrom Dev Options ofcourse.

"Unable to save cropped image" on Gallery

Hi,

Whenever I try to set a photo as my wallpaper, the Gallery app just says "unable to save cropped image." It doesn't happen to all photos; it only happens to .PNG photos (which also appear blurry in my gallery). It's been frustrating me for quite a while now, and I haven't found any ways on how to fix it. I've tried force stopping the app, clearing the cache and data, and even wiping the cache parition. No luck!

I've tried using 3rd party gallery apps, and the images appear crisp on them (as I've mentioned before, .PNG images also appear blurry in my gallery), however, if I try to set the wallpaper using the 3rd party gallery apps, it'll show the same thing-"unable to save cropped image".

I'm really hoping someone can help! I'm not sure what caused this problem. My gallery app was working fine before the Lollipop update. :confused:

Unable to flash Xperia Z2 with Flash Tool.

Hi All,

My Xperia Z2 stopped working and I was unable to do anything other than boot into recovery.
Tried wiping it and installing an updated CM12 package, now the phone will not start up at all, no access to recovery, no screen feedback etc...

It seems to be stuck in flash mode.

I am trying to flash stock firmware for 5.1.1 from Sony with flashtool, however it will not let me do this.
Whatever component I try to flash, whether whole image or just kernel and system, it fails.

unable to boot

unable to boot my canvas 4.i installed Galaxy Evolution Note 5.it stuck on bootlogo.i am unable to bring back my phone.sptool does not recognize phone.i am using windows 10.i installed cynus t1 driver.what i do now.plz help me

Unable to Install 5.1.1 OTA Update for Verizon SM-P905V

I was able to install the first of the two updates earlier for the 5.1.1 update on my Verizon Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. The second downloads, prompts for install, reboots and begins installing but errors out and reboots back into the OS home screen. The Verizon software update manager shows Failed software update error code 402. I have factory reset my tablet a couple of times and still same issue. I do not have my tablet rooted and no apps disabled.

I downloaded the latest available Samsung firmware md5 file, version VZW-P905VVRUANK1-20141205133604 and tried flashing using Odin 3.07 while in download mode. It starts and after a few seconds, Odin fails and on the tablet screen, I get the error, SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 2 > Binary 1. I have re-downloaded the firmware along with older versions and still same issue.

I was reading somewhere that my tablet could be "soft bricked" and that is why it will not install the second part of the OTA. As for the Odin/download mode error, I had read that the firmware version I am trying to flash in Odin has an older version of bootloader than my current and Samsung does not let you downgrade the bootloader. I may be wrong on both accounts, which is why I am seeing if anyone else has had this same issue or have any advice on what I can try.
