COS 12.1 Launcher 5.1.1 in landscape using Xposed and App Settings?
Using Xposed and App Settings, I was able to put the launcher in horizontal when I turned my phone in Lollipop 5.0. It does not work in Lollipop 5.1.1 using the default launcher.

Replace Launcher
I managed to replace the launcher in Fire OS 5.0.0. I just sideloaded the apk for smartlauncher and installed it. It was working fine, until the tablet (during use) restarted and installed 5.0.1. After the update, I had the default launcher again.
For older Kindel devices, I read, that you can block (in Lollipop it's now hide) the amazon launcher via adb.
pm list packages does not show a com.amazon.otter package, so hiding it, doesn't work. Instead I found com.amazon.firelauncher but if I hide (block) that package, a tap on the home button brings up a message from the parent control saying "The requested action is not permitted. Check Parental Controls settings and retry."
Any other ideas what I can try to replace the launcher?

Google Now Launcher
I noticed yesterday that both the Nexus 5X and 6P have the 5 column desktop setup like the Nexus 6 did. I always thought it had to do with screen size but obviously the 5X proves that wrong. Anyone know why non-Nexus devices like the X Pure are still stuck with 4?
any ported huawei emui launcher?
i found the launcher in Huawei devices is really elegant (huawei emui) and i was wondering if anyone managed to port the APK with working themes?

I am looking for a simple clean launcher, I must have tried most of the known apps and nothing is working properly for me..I am looking for something similar to the stock one only without the carousel !!
I come from an iPhone background and I just want a clean launcher where I can put my apps in folder without all the rest of the crap !

Google Now Launcher - Can't Open Microphone
I can't use the "OK Google" command within the launcher. It's not responding when I say OK Google. When I tap on the microphone icon next to the search bar, it says "Can't Open Microphone".
I've tried re-starting, installing a new build, and even tried clearing the cache for Google Apps, Maps.
This problem occurred earlier when I was trying to use the voice command to do a GPS search with Google Maps. Google Maps was acting all weird and couldn't locate my position then the Can't Open Microphone error began popping up. I don't know what to do.
I'm using the latest CM Nightly build from 09/29.

Sometimes my Nexus Player opens up another app in Sideload Launcher, why?
Just got my Nexus Player which I rooted. Installed Sideload Launcher and sometimes I press to open an app there and a totally different app opens up.
Anyone knows why?

I have a Lenono A806. The device was rooted and I downloaded an root uninstaller from the Play store to uninstall some apps that I couldn't otherwise.
In the process, among other apps, I deleted the only launcher I had on the phone (Lenovo Launcher) and I might have deleted the APK (not sure about the APK). The result was a black screen without any apps.
When turn on the phone I can see the home screen (same one you see before you unlock keyboard) and I also have some of the functionalities (eg messages, can make calls etc). However if I open one of these functionalities and I click on the "back" button, the screen goes completely black and the phone goes unresponsive. I tried to reset factory settings by holding the Volume Up + Down + On/Off button which opened the "Lenovo Recovery" screen and I choosing the "wipe user data (both fuse format and fuse wipe data). I also tried he install update package option and I rebooted the phone. Nothing of those worked.
Could anyone direct me towards the right way?

[APP] PressPowerKey or how to double tap to sleep using an alternative launcher
If you use an alternative launcher you lose the ability to double tap to sleep.
Using Nova Launcher Prime (and maybe other launchers) and a screen off app will give back that ability, but then you loose smart unlock.
The only way, with Nova, to keep smart unlock is to double tap the notification bar or press the power button.
I've made a small app that simulates the later, it just "presses" the power button.
Using Nova's double tap gesture to run this app will give you back the double tap to sleep ability without losing smart unlock.
Unfortunately, you'll need a rooted phone for this to work. Sorry.
If you find this useful for you, just download and install the attached apk.

BB Launcher or 3rd party?
Anyone planning on using the default launcher with the Hub and the other BB apps or are you planning on going straight to NOVA/ Now launcher out of the box? I think the BB Launcher looks pretty clean, so I'll be giving it a chance. Can't be any worse than touchwiz, right?
App launcher changed after update and can't see icons
I'm using Cyanogenmod 12.1 with the deafualt app launcher and deep darkness theme. Something happened and the app launcher screwed itself up and now I can't read the names of the apps and have to scroll down instead of side to side.

I reverted to a backup using TWRP and it was normal at first but after some automatic updates it went back to this messed up app launcher. I've never changed the app launcher before and don't know how.
I'm used to seeing this, the half on the right.

Google Now Launcher - DPI after update
Hi
I'm using cm12.1 and i changed the DPI down so I could get 5 columns and 5 rows in Google Launcher
I updated today the Google App and (along with the vertical drawer) the DPI stopped affecting the columns/rows layout. No matter the DPI i chose i get stuck with 4x4 launcher
Anyone has any idea how to solve this?
