Cannot hear calls after rooting Korean SM-N920K Note 5

Hi everyone. I have a Korean variant note 5 (SM-N920K). and I've rooted it with the noble kernel specifically for the K model. Everything runs fine except the fact that absolutely no sound can be heard when making calls. I flashed back to stock rom and calls work like normal, but once rooted the sound goes again. I can make calls perfectly well but it's as if the speaker for calls doesn't exist. Putting it on speakerphone doesn't help either.

Has anyone had a similar issue and knows what I might have to do to fix this? I tried flashing one of the other kernels such as arter97 but they crash the phone and I'm unable to boot up.

My version is the 64GB version...any help would be much appreciated!!

Rooting Innjoo one 3G HD

Rooting the H815: Should I unlock the bootloader or not?

I have received my new LG G4 H815 (EU) phone today and I definitely want to root the phone. Now I'm asking myself whether I should unlock the bootloader or not.

As far as I understand, there are two completely different options for getting root access to the device:
1. Register on LG site, officially unlock bootloader, install TWRP image via fastboot, install root via TWRP

2. Walk through the instructions in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/o...ot-lg-t3164765

According to the thread you should disable OTA upgrades after rooting it and there is always the possibility that LG patches this rooting method with future Android Upgrades. However, I do want to upgrade the Android system image from time to time (LG will probably provide an upgrade to Android 6.0 sooner or later). Will upgrading the Android system (without loosing root) be less problematic when I unlock the bootloader now? As far as I understand it so far, you can easily root it again after an upgrade if you have unlocked the bootloader. Is that correct? Can I still use OTA upgrades when the bootloader is unlocked and TWRP is installed? I don't mind running fastboot to reinstall TWRP after an upgrade but I don't really like to manually download each Android upgrade from shady mirror sites instead of using the official LG OTA updater.

I do know that unlocking the bootloader will void the warranty and that some Apps may refuse to work no an unlocked device. I'm ok with that and I want to have the phone permanently rooted and install updates (without loosing root) with as little trouble as possible.

Since unlocking the bootloader will wipe everything, I want to do it either now (before setting up the phone) or never. So what would you recommend?

Rooting and keeping with the stock kernel

It's month now when SGS6E+ is out in the wild and we don't have many devs in the comunity so far... I greately appreciate the only custom kernel we have, but what about just rooting, and keeping stock at the same time? Pure stock and root.
I still can't find any solution for such a basic need: a stock rooted kernel. You can say: hey there is one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/development/auto-rooting-stock-kernels-s6-edge-plus-t3194607/

..but when I went thru the comments... so many issues... Why?

Truely speaking, i tried to compile my own kernel, but... I'm a noob and only achieved to set up the environment: ubuntu... all the needed packages... but then I noticed there were no newest sources for G928F on samsung site....G928FXXU1AOH4. Even if they were available, I would rather fail building it :)

Any ideas?

Help with Rooting Galaxy S4

Hello, everyone. I'm new to this site, and have come here because I've gotten a bit desperate. I have been trying to root my AT&T Galaxy S4 (Model number: Samsung-SGH-I337, Android version 4.4.4) for a long time and have been unable to. I have tried multiple programs, such as Kingo Root, Root Genius, and towelroot. Nothing worked until someone I know told me to go to TomsGuide (a website; I tried to post the link, but was unable to) and follow the steps. It seemed to work at first, because I now have SuperSu and Superuser in my apps.

However, when I open the Superuser app, a message pops up: "The Superuser binary (su) must be updated. Please choose an installation method. Recovery mode installation is recommended for HTC devices." There are two options: Cancel and Recovery Install. Nothing happens when I click Cancel; when I click Recovery Install, I receive this message: "There was an error installing Superuser. Please send a log of the error to the developer."

I have also gone into My Files on my phone and found the apk files (there was one on my SD card and one in the phone's memory). I installed both, but when I opened it, I either received the same message as above or this one "There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem! If you just upgraded to Android 4.3, you need to manually re-root - consult the relevant forums for your device."

I am not sure what to do now and have been unable to find the answer to this problem yet. Any help would be appreciated. I am also new to this kind of stuff, so detailed explanations would be nice. Thank you in advance.

rooting ith JOdin on Linux (Debian)

I did some browsing around on here but nothing really definitively answered my questions. I just got a S6 Edge, running 5.1.1. After some research, it seems that rooting this is a bit more complex than phones I have dealt with in the past. I really don't want this bricked as I don't know how to recover. Tripping KNOX isn't a problem, I don't care about this.

From what I can tell, I use JOdin which I have downloaded. From what I gather, it whorks fine and can see the phone when its put in download mode.

I then need to dowload the appropriate kernel from autoroot.chainfire .eu My device is a G925T, so I expect to download that one from the CF-Auto-Root. However, I have seen one person saying that the kernel on there does not work with the S6 Edge and I should download the kernel for the S6. Is this correct?

JOdin requires a pit file and it looks like it isn't able to find one for the S6 Edge. I found a place (droidviews .com/download-pit-files-for-galaxy-s6-edge-all-models) where it claims to have the correct pit file but need to make sure.

Is there anything I am missing? Is everything mentioned above correct? Am I using the correct files here?

Rooting a Erisin with *#hct#root# not working

Hi,

I tried to root my Erisin with the code *#hct#root#

The code works and the Radio "answers", but if I then try to install Viper for example, it doesn't work, saying it needs root access.
So I entered the code *#hct#root# and tried to install SU (and similar apps), but also without success.

Any idea?

Thanks
Markus

Bluetooth profile update after rooting?

Sorry for what may be a simple question. I have an AT&T G4. One thing that bugs me is it won't work with my Dodge Charger Uconnect with text massages. It works in my wife's Jeep though. My old S5 Active worked with text. I was hoping with rooting and a different ROM my Bluetooth could be updated to work on the G4. Is this possible or not? Thanks for the help.

Hi Friends,

A buddy of mine is getting a notifiaction for Android System Update. When he selects to install, It says it will reboot and install updates, but when it reboots it goes in to Team Win Recovery Projest mode (TWRP) as he had rooted his phone. After it goes to recovery mode he manually selected reboot and it does not start to update and the notification is not to be seen again. But after 2-3 hours it comes back again asking to update. Let me know how to diable the phone going into recovey mode or how to update in recovery mode if there is way to do it???? This has been happening from past 2 days. Thanks in advance!:)

Blocking ads without rooting

Is there a way to block all ads (on wifi and data) without rooting?
Tried AdBlock Plus but the ads are blocked only on wifi connection.

Rooting & Rom'ing

Okay, I think I know the answer to this question, so forgive me. Just want to be sure before I go blow 0.

For the Nexus devices, regardless of the carrier, we'll be able to root them and ROM them as well as install new Kernel's because the bootloaders will be unlocked?

If that's correct please say so. If it's only partially correct, please explain it all to me.
